Incredibly racist and misleading
I booked two apartments from this establishment for one family traveling from the UK and another from Hong Kong. The listing clearly states a BBQ is available and free cancellation. When asked about the BBQ the hotel told me this is not available. I pointed out the listing stated they have one they told me why when no one ever wants one then promptly asked me to pay for it which i politely agreed. The next message i get from the hotel is i have to transfer 50% of the entire cost in CASH of the apartments to them within 5 days or they would cancel the reservation. I asked whether this was normal policy and why we had been asked to do this in contravention with booking.com’s guarantee. They then gave me another deadline then once again threatened me with cancellation.
Faced with these circumstances and the ever rising number of covid infections i cancelled and the response from them “this was expected. Always the same from people of your country”. I pointed out what an incredibly racist and presumptuous statement that was.
We booked these apartments as there was nowhere else free and booking.com was offering free cancellation. I would highly recommend NOT booking with these people especially if you are a different race to their owners (funnily enough he never even asked what race we were and just assumed we were all chinese)!
