Food is sensational

We have been coming to the Country Inn Berns - DE Bakker 4-5 times a year for about 12 years. The food is sensationally good at an amazingly reasonable price. I have already tasted a variety of dishes from the menu here and was never disappointed. The plate dinners and buffets top it all off again. The selection and quality of the buffets is indescribable. Most of the rooms have been renovated and meet today's standard. For us Berns - De Bakker is the first choice when we come to County Bentheim.

Wonderful stay

We came with our dog and received very good care as well as a great dinner in the hotel’s restaurant although it was very late in the night. The lady in the hotel was very kind and helpful, and we got everything we wanted despite she only spoke german and we did not know a word of it. In the morning, the breakfast buffet was served and everything was delicious. The room and the hotel was exceptionally clean and wonderful.

Very little to offer for the price asked.

On the good side, it did provide me with relative peace and quiet I was looking for, running away from the Dutch new year's eve fireworks lunacy. Easy to park, plenty of space. Breakfast, just regular, nothing special.
However, the bed was uncomfortable, the building would do well with some renovations (they still have communist-style toilets), tv didn't have HDMI (meaning it was probably over 10 years old) for my laptop. Internet was acceptable, just got 3 out of 5 marks wifi signal, in room number 1. If you want to sleep early, bear in mind that until around 21-22hs, the restaurant customers will be in the property, chatting loud and so, but it finishes after 22hs. The reception lady speaks zero English but was patient enough with my broken German

Restful place with great food

We stayed here two nights in this hidden small village. The place is very relaxing, and had nice walks around. The room was comfortable and cosy. The food was amazing in the very popular restaurant at the next door. We had a nice stay.

Fawly Towers revisited and perfected

Terrible. The best / worst example of rudeness I have experienced. Deliberately forgetting to bring orders. Avoid if you are not local. Note we speak German and lived in Germany for 12 years. We have a wide experience of Gasthausen. Much nicer and friendlier places nearer Lingen eg Am Wasserfall.
