Excellent for Hannover

We stayed at the hotel for two nights covering the Coldplay concert. Although it is around 8 miles outside the city, the transport links are excellent. All the city centre hotels were full due to a Trade Fair and the prices were pretty high, however the room was clean and well appointed and the hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. We had the menu of the day for dinner - very tasty and good value - and the breakfasts were okay for a German hotel.
We would use the hotel again if we were in the area.

Typical Craftsman and Sales Representative Hostel

I had booked this hotel as an overnight stay on a multi-day bike tour because it was a good location for the end of a day's walk.
The Havelser Hof left me with a dodgy impression. On the one hand, my room and the associated bathroom were fine, quite modern, fully equipped and clean. On the other hand, the hotel seems kind of desolate and unwelcoming. This starts with the location on a busy road in an unsightly suburb of Hanover. It continues with the absence of any personal greeting: You take your key from a safe, for which you have previously received a code by e-mail, and then enter the ghostly silent hotel. Finally, a breakfast that wasn't bad, but with baked-on rolls and cold cuts from the discount store didn't really convince either.
Conclusion: A typical craftsman and sales representative hostel, which serves its purpose, but does not invite you to stay longer.

Havelser Hof Hotel

Stayed here on a business trip in September 2013. Not far from Hanover airport, in a small village. I arrived on Monday afternoon and was informed the restaurant is closed on Mondays!! luckily I found another hotel that had a restaurant. Staff were very nice, the restaurant/bar was open on Tuesday and was very nice, good food and beer. The hotel room was ok but there were no window blinds only curtains and it overlooked a shop, garage and bus shelter so had to keep the curtains shut!! 5 minutes walk up the road was a nice turkish cafe-bar and they were friendly too...

Nearly perfect!

I stayed for the second time in this lovely-looking hotel last Tuesday night.
Sina, the lovely hotelier´s daughter, warmly greeted me as I arrived.
Sarah, who welcomed me at the reception, like all other staff members, was very friendly, polite and helpful.
The room was very good; bed, shower and furniture to my taste only, the tripod-lamp in room 14 is too widely spread for a comparatively small space. I did observe some "dirt" around the shower area but the friendly and very professional young Lena - who served at the reception and in the restaurant for the breakfast, said she´d pass my message on to her boss.
I really must mention friendly and entertaining Katherine, as I did in my last evaluation.
she is very observant, always noticed, when a guest´s glass, cup or plate is empty.
I ordered and ate - with relish - pork knuckle with whipped potatoes, sauerkraut and a simply gorgeous gravy! Future guests to this hotel really must try this menu! I was served with two warm bread sorts with a lovely-tasting pâté before my main meal.
When I have either business or private grounds for being in the Hannover area the next time, Hotel Havelser Hof is where I will gladly stay!

Wel betaald - geen hotel.

Ik had dit hotel gekozen omdat ze geopend waren tot 23.30 uur.
Toen ik na een lange rit om 22.40 uur daar was gearriveerd, was het hotel gesloten en niemand bereikbaar.
Vervolgens heb ik diverse telefoonnummers gebeld, die op de receptiedeur, voordeur waren achtergelaten. GEEN GEHOOR.
Ook was er geen bericht met een code voor het kluisje. Waar het hotel eventueel de sleutel in had kunnen achterlaten. Immers kamer was al betaald.
Verschrikkelijk klantonvriendelijke ervaring (ben nu nog bezig om mijn geld terug te krijgen)
