Easter in the Westerwald

We have known the hotel for over 10 years now and have stayed here several times. The booking went smoothly. We needed a room on the ground floor as one person was disabled. That also worked great. Our room was a bit dark but otherwise i.O. The rooms we had rented so far differ essentially in size. There were no significant differences in the functional equipment (satellite TV, couch, table, 2 chairs, possibility to make coffee and tea). The free parking is also good. Breakfast is absolutely fine. Here you will find everything that belongs to a good breakfast. We noticed a few points this year but still negatively:
The shower is very smooth.
In the shower there is no storage for your own shower gel/shampoo.
A robotic vacuum cleaner is used for cleaning purposes; this suddenly called in at night with light and beep signals.
The housekeeping is not done daily as in many other hotels. There is a plan for this, but the staff seem not to have internalised it yet.
On the positive side, however, it must be noted that our legitimate complaints were - if possible - immediately resolved. Hence the rating with 4 out of 5 points.
Price-wise, you are more in the middle of the field. We paid for 7 nights with breakfast for two around. 950,00€.
Conclusion: On future visits to this area we will probably book the hotel again, as our children live in the immediate vicinity and the hotel location is ideal for this circumstance.
PS: Some time ago, the hotel was apparently also converted into a holiday resort for dog owners. During our presence we saw several guests with their animals. You should know that! We didn't mind that.

The cottage mill, highly recommended!

We were on 25.04.26 in the Hüttenmühle and we liked it very much. Hotel room was very good. The entire outdoor complex very nicely designed. In the evening we were in the restaurant for dinner and it was very delicious. The pitch is also recommended! We would definitely come back!

Nice hotel for our short break in the Westerwald

We booked 4 nights at the Hotel Hüttenmühle and spent a very good time here. We had a small apartment with plenty of space. Breakfast and dinner in the cottage rooms was very good and varied. The staff was very friendly, the service very good.
Our dog was welcome and was allowed in the restaurant.

Charmingly situated in the forest

Actually an emergency solution by a busted booking elsewhere, both hotel and restaurant have convinced fully. The hotel, designed like dog water, scores with quite spacious, well-appointed rooms, which, like all buildings and the whole grounds, were very lovingly decorated, which, supported by the evening lighting, leaves a magical to enchanting impression. Many of the buildings have covered seating areas designed with natural wood, which correspond to those of the restaurant. The breakfast buffet is sumptuous and leaves nothing to be desired. A small menu is provided in the restaurant, at least as far as food is concerned. But these are extremely tasty, freshly prepared and appropriately portioned, price-performance is absolutely right here. The drinks menu is significantly larger and contains good beers (Andechser, Veltins), tasty organic wines and, in some cases, non-alcoholic drinks. The host conducts the whole thing with a sense of proportion and a wink, in a human way that allows a rare, small lapse to be admitted immediately and corrected generously. This leaves more impression than everlasting perfection and underlines the overall impression of the extraordinary, enchanting and uniquely beautifully situated in nature, surrounded by forest, ponds and streams. Disappointing stay in a dated and dirty room

More a two star bed and breakfast than a hotel. Very overpriced for the quality and service.
Upon arrival we were allocated a very dark and dated family room. Requesting to change we were offered two others which were brighter but not great. Rooms sparse, in need of maintenance (lino in bathroom floor coming away, shower tray sagged when stepped on) and dirty (previous occupants empty beer bottle behind door, floor and under bed not cleaned). Bathroom clearly had a ventilation issue leading to mouldy windows and a horrible smell if the window wasn’t open at all times.
Sadly the room wasn’t an environment we felt we could relax in and we couldn’t wait to leave.
Hotel setting was peaceful. Restaurant was ok but nothing particularly special. Staff provided functional service but didn’t make any effort to engage with customers.
One of the main roads to the hotel is currently shut. Would have been helpful if the hotel could have warned us about this when we contacted them prior to arrival.
Overall a very disappointing stay in a hotel best avoided.
