Everything was wonderful the staff was friendly and helpful. The little town was warm and welcoming. Breakfast was fresh, hot exceptional..
All in all I would give this property a 10/10
Would love to come back if ever back in Area…

A very good accommodation

The apparently recently renovated 3-star hotel is located in the historic center of Krumbach. Access is a little difficult due to the one-way system. There is a very small hotel parking lot, but there was always a parking space in the surrounding streets.
We had booked a superior room; this was on the 2nd floor and everything was in perfect condition. Only the view of the front of the building opposite was a little disappointing.
TV and WiFi worked perfectly.
The breakfast room, which is also used as a restaurant, is attractively designed; the breakfast was very good quality.
The hotel can be recommended without reservation.

ice cold, unwelcoming and the height of hospitality UNfriendliness

In August 2023 we were there by chance, had lunch in the restaurant of the Hotel Kachelofen and booked rooms again for the occasion to attend an annual event in Krumbach at the beginning of February 2024, which we are attending with friends. We spoke to the boss herself at the reception and she assured us that the two rooms would be fine. We didn't take any written confirmation with us because we were on a bike tour, we relied on it, as we had in previous years, that it would work out. Unfortunately, a serious mistake, as we had to experience yesterday when we arrived. No, nothing had been booked with them, said the same lady, and the house was full, so no room ... we were appalled and speechless at the vehemence with which she repeated this like a mantra, as well as "only those who can provide an email confirmation have booked the room. You should have asked again." We said: "Don't you remember? We've been to your place so many times, and in August we were in cycling gear etc. etc...." We would have liked her to say things like: I'm sorry, I can't remember, but I'll just ask the surrounding hotels if they have any rooms for you. Nothing. Absolutely nothing. That would have been the very least, we think. She said: "There are other hotels in the area, try them." Well, we had no other choice. Thank God we found a very courteous team at the Hotel and Gasthaus Diem 100 m away, who had great, quiet and spacious rooms for us. We had a really excellent dinner there, a delicious breakfast the next morning and a friendly, guest-oriented host family and staff. So the initial disaster turned out to be an advantage for us, we're booking at the Gasthaus Diem for next year.
