Total peace and relaxation
The limited opening hours of the reception and restaurant (only with prior reservation) are to be considered, but all this is clearly mentioned on the Website.
The hotel was renovated again in 2018 and has all modern facilities in a rural style. Worth mentioning are the fly screen in front of the sliding door to the terrace and the many storage spaces. We stayed in room 6 which is also handicapped accessible which perhaps explains why one slatted frame is electronically adjustable and the other is not. Further, the room has a very comfortable couch, a minibar (with free welcome products!) Electric kettle with coffee and tea and a fan for summer.
No longer contemporary certainly because of the recent renovation is the size of the TV. There is more than enough space to equip the wall with a significantly larger screen.
The breakfast buffet is above average. A nice variation of bread rolls, wide cheese selection, lots of cold cuts, Mett liver sausage, fresh fruit, yogurt, juices and warm drinks. A few pieces of cake must not be missing. Egg dishes are prepared à la minute. What we really appreciated was that despite minimal staff the whole buffet was displayed every day. As for rooms with breakfast, the value for money is quite right.
The gastronomy was good quality but there we expected more because of the many excellent reviews. The commandment was not extraordinary, just good. The price-performance ratio is not quite right in our opinion. The quantities offered are rather small by German standards, but the prices are not. Of course, it may be that the Hunsrück is a more expensive area, we were there for the first time, but in other countries or areas we have often caught a better value for money.
Conclusion: we can certainly recommend the hotel because of the comfortable rooms, the excellent breakfast and the total peace. To take into account that there is little gastronomic alternative on the rest day or if you are there longer and want to eat something else. There is only the Lansgasthof zur Post 3 km away, otherwise you should already drive towards Kastellaun or Treisch-Karden and that is already about 15 km.

Superb
Sits on Hundsruck plateau above Mosel Valley and close to Kastellaun.
Called back for full meal which was absolutely delicious.
Highly recommended.
Much better than the "rip off" places in Mosel and with the diversion.
