Hotel was very good and so were staff. The only negative was the breakfast was very small offering and had to eat at bar tables not designed for dining. Didnt see any hot option either. For 17.90Euros this didnt seem very good.

Very good location

The hotel is very centrally located at the Cathedral Square, so one can explore the city on foot from the hotel. Despite the central location, it is very quiet in the hotel and the windows are very well soundproofed. The room is very small with little storage space, therefore only suitable for a short stay. However, everything was clean.
The bed was very comfortable, and the pillow was especially well-filled.
The breakfast does not offer any hot dishes, such as scrambled eggs. There are also no "normal" tables to sit at during breakfast, only high bar stools or lounge chairs, which is very impractical for breakfast. However, the service staff was very attentive during breakfast and also offers orange juice at the table.
The reception was also very friendly and helpful.

Motel One in Magdeburg

Nice hotel close to the Elbe, very friendly staff, very good value for money. Delicious breakfast for € 17.50 per person. Parking garage at the cathedral, € 9.00 per day, € 20.00 per day including e-shop (very uncomplicated, will be charged with parking ticket). Green citadel and Elbe within walking distance.

Strange room but clean and top location

Clean room but strange smell despite ventilation. Standard double room for two for 1 night unfortunately offered no storage for suitcases/trolleys and there were no curtains/visual protection, only complete blackout curtains. Since the building was U-shaped, the other wing was directly opposite our room, as a privacy screen would have been great without having to completely darken the room. Unfortunately only on 1 bed side socket and on the other bed side shelf/nightstand. Breakfast and staff great!

That would be better

I'm often at Motel one in many cities. On the positive side, typical Motel one standard in the rooms, great location next to the cathedral in the middle of the city, impressive from the outside through the building (the other half of the building is the Ministry of Justice). Why can't I bring myself to a good evaluation? The breakfast atmosphere is really unrelaxed (even more than usual at Motel one). there is not enough space for the buffet, so it meanders along the bar, everything is confusing. In the immediate breakfast area there are practically only these club chairs with tiny tables, you can also sit on bar stools at the bar, which I feel is a complete imposition. If you look around at a loss, you are directed with a tray to the other end of the room, there you finally find some reasonable tables, but has a longer running distance and (zumidnest today) was not vacuumed and there were the chips from the bar evening on the floor, plus the unbearable music dud, I would like to have my rest at breakfast and also read the newspaper, at Motel one you always have the impression that this is not desired, because the hotels always have significantly more rooms than the breakfast area seats.
