Great family run hotel with amazing desserts

The hotel is right off the Danube bike trail with secure bike storage and free outside lockers for Ebike battery charging . The rooms were really clean and upgraded . Comfortable bed and small but very nice bathroom . Husband and wife owned and along with son managed . A bit out of town but the on-site restaurant is super . The special the night we stayed there was baked chicken breast from their own farm raised chicken . The crowning glory was the homemade, the wife does a majority of the cooking , cherry cheesecake. It was amazing. So good that we purchased a piece the next morning to take with us on our bicycles for a snack break later on . The first time we have done that in 23 years of European bicycling. Wish I could have gotten the recipe !

ok, but bedding inadequate

we were on the danube cycle trail. the hotel was fine. the room was reasonable and the bathroom was standard. however, the beds were together although we had requested twin beds. the pillow was a complete waste of time and the quilt would have useful in siberia.
more positively, the people were friendly, the food was good, if a little unimaginative, and the wifi worked

Simple, plain, just the job.

We were on the Danube Cycle trail and this was our stop after an 88 mile first day. Great welcome from Herr Widman - nice man with a rather English sense of humour that took us by surprise. Lovely meal and a great room - maybe not for everyone but had everything I value. Clean, spacious, comfortable, quiet, nice TV, good bathroom. In the morning after a splendid breakfast, I discovered I had a puncture. Mended it and asked Herr Widman if he had a track pump to quickly inflate the tyre. No he said but I have a compressor. Not really a good idea for a bike but he started it up anyway. Within a minute it stopped in a cloud of blue smoke. He just shrugged his shoulders and said in a jolly and charming way "Kaput!" Later on, he made sure that we found the correct route to get back to the Danube Trail. Nice man, nice place.

Pleasant stay

This guest house was booked as part of the German Danube bike ride package. It is situated in a peaceful location, surrounded by fields and a 15 minute walk into the village centre of Obermarchtal. It is currently undergoing extension works, however the proprietors were friendly and professional. The rooms are adequate with well-appointed bathrooms. No tea & coffee making facilities, however it does have a restaurant 'on site' and a continental breakfast is served in a modern conservatory room. A small secure garage is available for the storage of bicycles. Wifi internet coverage is available.

Excellent

We stayed here as part of a short cycling tour booked with the Donau Touristik company. The accommodation was part of the package so we've no idea of the cost were you to book independently. However, everything was first rate. The rooms are modern and clean (there's no fridge or tea/coffee making facilities which seems to be normal for Germany). All the staff we spoke to were exceptionally helpful and friendly. The small restaurant has a limited menu but the food was of a high standard. We stayed at five different hotels/guest houses during the tour, all were good, but this was the best overall.
