Perfect hotel for stay in Passau
We spent an extended weekend here and to anticipate: We can highly recommend it!
The house is located between the Donaukai and the Passau train station, but you don't get anything from the train traffic. If you like it nice and quiet, you reserve “a room to the courtyard” from the outset and that is guaranteed to be quiet. You can reach all the sights directly from the hotel on foot, because the pedestrian zone starts right next to the hotel. This is great because then the car can be left in the (DB) underground car park directly below the hotel. Important: Watch out on arrival: You have to take the LEFT driveway! Otherwise you end up in the second car park of DB and there is no direct access to the hotel. The parking fee of the hotel underground garage is 6.00 € for 24 hours. You can get directly from the TG by elevator to the hotel, very convenient.
The building (“Danube Quarter”) is home to a number of shops (e.g. a NET discount store, a TEDI and an action market) and a large pizzeria belonging to the L’Osteria chain. Right next door you will find a Wöhrl clothing shop and a few meters walk then various shops and a large shopping center, the “Stadtgalerie”.
The hotel has 128 air-conditioned rooms and offers a lot of amenities: In the foyer there is a refrigerated vending machine for drinks and snacks, in the 1st floor there is a On the ground floor there is a beer vending machine (the own “Schlossbräu Mariakirchen” is available in different types, also alcohol-free, per bottle € 3.00), there is a pinball machine in front of the breakfast room, on the ground floor there is a pool table and seating groups to linger.
The staff is very friendly and attentive, the rooms clean, spacious and nicely furnished, the beds very comfortable, the equipment is comfortable (large flat screen, safe, armchair, desk with chair, blackout curtains, bathroom with floor-to-ceiling modern (rain shower), a coffee tea station consisting of kettle, 2 porcelain cups, tea bags and coffee instant powder, coffee cream, sugar.
The breakfast room is very large so that a lot of hotel guests can dine at the same time. The choice at the buffet is very varied, the food and drinks are very delicious, it is constantly refilled. Nothing was missing. The scrambled eggs in particular stood out positively because they were very delicious and not as stale as in some other hotels rather usual. The coffees from the commercial fully automatic machines were very delicious, including the cappuccino. There are many cereal mixes – even with instructions for delicious bowls, various organic honeys and jams, Belgian nut nugat cream, various juices, water, a great selection of pastries (pretzels, cakes, croissants, bread, toast (with toaster)), pancakes, scrambled eggs, boiled breakfast eggs, bacon and other hot dishes, various delicacies, pasta salad, spreads, various sausages and cheeses, fresh fruit, fruit salad, various yogurts, etc.
In fine weather, guests can have breakfast on the breakfast terrace. During our stay it was still relatively cool in the morning. Therefore, the terrace was only used as a “smoking terrace”, which bothers non-smokers a bit when sitting next to one of the terrace doors. Because there the smokers enter and exit and the smoke then passes through the slightly opened door. Here the hotel could come up with another solution, because I don't know if the smokers would also stand outside next to the breakfast ends in very nice weather.
For dinner we have a tip: We ate one evening at the “Golden Libra”, the second evening at the “LARCO” – both highly recommended! Very tasty food, very good value for money, very nice ambience and staff. A table reservation is recommended.
We enjoyed our stay very much, can highly recommend the place and are guaranteed to come back the next time you visit Passau!

Parking was confusing because not well sign posted but hotel really nice. Large room, plenty of space. Would be nice to have a fridge in the room. Breakfast was plentiful. Hotel is central and not far to the centre which was ideal for us

The room was clean and spacious. Pillows were a bit too soft. We had to get extra pillows for neck support.
The front desk staff was very nice and helpful.
Breakfast was good with fresh fruits and hot foods. The buffet was well looked after by courteous and helpful servers , especially Trang.
The location was very good for shopping and transportation.

Staff was very helpful in guiding us to the areas that we needed to go…friendly and available. Easy walk from train station! Good value for the money.
