Wonderful days at the Maxx Hotel Potsdam

We had three wonderful days at the Maxx Hotel in Potsdam; everything was truly excellent, very friendly staff, a very nice room with a comfortable bed, sufficient space for us, and very practically furnished. Cleanliness was perfect and everything one needs was there: tissues, magnifying mirror, care products, refrigerator, electric kettle for tea or coffee preparation, and also a safe. The breakfast was great; we lacked nothing, a very nice selection including very fine homemade savory spreads, which I found very delicious. The beautiful outdoor area at the Kutscherhaus also invites you to linger all day if you need a break. The location of the hotel is absolutely brilliant; you are right at Luisenplatz with the Brandenburg Gate, a stone's throw from the city center, an entrance gate to Sanssouci Park is also around the corner, and there are also highly recommended restaurants with Italian or Asian cuisine right next door, as well as a wine bar, a café, and an ice cream parlor, everything right outside the door and you have short distances if you are tired in the evening. In the hotel, there is also a very good restaurant and a nice bar. We will definitely come back—we only have good things to report.

Great hotel

We found a hotel where everything was right.
The room was well-equipped. Everything was just right!
The breakfast was good.
However, one should pay attention to the hotel's instructions regarding the breakfast time slots.
The staff is very friendly.
The hotel's location - super!

Everything at the hotel was great

Everything at the hotel was wonderful.
But: I tried several times to get an earlier check-in. I initially received no confirmation of receipt for my email inquiry and later for the early check-in according to the offer. Only after I followed up. and then only after 3 days did I get a response. Telephone availability is absolutely inadequate.
Therefore, only 2 stars for the service.

A Big Disappointment

I was very disappointed with MAXX Hotel Sanssouci because I am familiar with the Steigenberger brand and have stayed at some lovely hotels. The only good thing I can say is the location is great - walking distance from town and the beautiful Sanssouci Park. The hotel itself is very dated, and our room had an overpowering smell of bleach, it was so bad we had to buy room scent to make it bearable. Although I was offered the possibility of an upgrade before checking in, when I tried to get one, I was denied. The room was overly warm and just didn’t feel clean, and the shower dripped constantly. The parking garage was tiny, it was pay-to-park, and not available on our second night. For the price of this hotel, I absolutely would not recommend it.
