To be recommended

Great hotel; rooms of sober elegance; varied and quality breakfast. Large and comfortable rooms with safe and minibar. Bathrooms with shower; poor courtesy line. Excellent restaurant: accurate service; mainly German cuisine. Reserved parking free of charge.

A worthwhile stopover

Today we were at the restaurant of the Hotel Krone for lunch. How beautifully decorated to the feast, the style of
Restaurants adapted. White tablecloths, candle on the table. Very nice service and good cuisine.
We were/are thrilled. It was like an experience from the past for us, when we were served with silver bowls and sauces.
See you again!!!

Ancient ... musty

We were not satisfied with the booked suite. Whether beds should be hard or soft is assessed differently by each person. AL's hotel might be a medium choice, not such pitfalls, right? The quite appealing decor of the very generous suite , comfortably furnished in the style of the 80s, was with the many dust collectors and carpets a nightmare for asthmatics, also overheated and on the noisy street ( we were grateful for the provided earplugs , which was a very attentive service ) not to air at night. We therefore unfortunately slept very poorly, and therefore I cannot rate the crown better. The hotel itself is worth seeing old-fashioned rustic furnishings, the breakfast was ok, parking is free right at the house that runs Wi-Fi.
Something actually minor - why do you have to provide sealed plastic cups in the bathroom for single use, do we not have enough plastic waste in the world ? And don't come with hygiene - in the restaurant I also use glasses of other people after a washing up, which works worldwide.
Conclusion - nice people work here in dusty and worth seeing walls, which unfortunately no longer serves its purpose well.

we had a good time

We had a good time, both during the overnight stay and at dinner.
It is in a fairly "central" position, in a town in the Regierungsbezirk Freiburg, between canton Schaffhausen and canton Zürich, near Stein am Rhein (for the Moskau - Ramsen customs) and the Hohentwiel fortress.
Renovated and equipped rooms (including mini-bar). Rather silent. Free (uncovered) parking.
Check-in a bit "peculiar", with QR code, tablet, but then the attendant also arrived ;-)

Every visit is worth it!!!!

There's like coming home. The waitresses are always fast, friendly and on top of it. The food is just a dream. The best schnitzels far and wide, the cream sauce I can only recommend. Fries delicious, spaetzle delicious. Salad always fresh. It's just all good. The cozy atmosphere just like in the living room at home.
