Europa-Park family break

Check in was simple although there was some confusion about payment. We thought we had paid on Booking.com but it was just a holding fee. The lady explained this, released the fee and all was good. Very clean rooms nicely decorated. Yes you do need to leave a deposit in cash, simple for when checking out. Found everyone that we came across kind and helpful. Short walk to the park although this felt long on way back . Comfortable beds after a tiring day at the park.

Catastrophic

We had booked an apartment at Pension Marina, but a week before our arrival, the owner cancelled our booking without warning. He could not be reached: he did not answer Booking calls or email reminders. In addition, he insisted on obtaining a bank transfer although on the website it was clearly indicated that the prepayment had to be made via the credit card filled in at the time of booking, with the total amount clearly displayed. This strongly resembles a scam. Be careful, I strongly advise against this accommodation.

Many “duties” – few “guests”

We booked an apartment here in May 2024 via an online booking site, at Keltenstrasse 5.
Arrival is only ALLOWED from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.!
Check-in is MANDATORY at the reception of Pension Marianna, 1.2 km away (16 minutes on foot) the following day and only permitted from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m.!
Unfortunately, all arrivals check in during this one hour and you have to wait in line.
Then you have to hurry, because everyone wants to be at Europa-Park by 9 a.m.
Caution: Rooms must be quiet from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m. - if you don't comply, you will be threatened with the police!
You MUST "sweep" before you leave - if the apartment is not swept clean, you will be charged € 40.00!
The apartment was otherwise completely fine.
Unfortunately, with all the "RULES" we felt more like obedient puppets than like guests.
For these reasons we cannot recommend the apartment - we will choose other accommodation on our next visit to Europa-Park and will hopefully be GUESTS again.

No communication, waste of money!

Booking a multi trip holiday, I put the wrong date in by mistake. I tried to change the date within 24 hours to no avail , I lost £117 on a hotel that I cannot use! I have had to book elsewhere NOW too/ Funny thing IS, there is now a room available to new customers for an adiitonal £108. I tried callling too, which was just a further expense and waste of time. I spoke with a gentleman who could not help me, but infomed me to email the hotel, not through Booking.com as this was the best way to solve the problem as booking.com is not good. Guess what I have? yep you guessed it...Not one resonse to my booking.com raised case and not one response to my email! A whole bunch of NOTHING! THIS IS THE MOST EXPENSIVE BIT OF NOTHING I HAVE EVER RECIEVED IN MY LIFE. WOW! CUTOMER SERVICE 0. HONESTY 0. FRENILYNESS 0. COMMUNICATION 0. TIME 0. Please Avoid if you want to protect your hard ernt cash and feel wothy of recieving decent customer service - read the reviews- I am not an isolated case, but I now know, I am one of many!

good behaviour

In view of the conditions we live in, I cannot travel. When I addressed the hotel management, they refused to cancel the reservation without any charge like other apartment and did not appreciate the conditions we are living in now.
