A small gem not far from Lake Waging

We spent a few days relaxing in this cozy, family-run
hotel not far from Lake Waging. Very friendly staff, the owner's handwriting for loving details, a delicious and varied breakfast buffet, and excellent dinner from the chef, Franz Tanner. And the icing on the cake, one can eat outside on the terrace! Even our little dachshund, Leopold, felt very cared for and comfortable with Alexandra. (This was also due to the daily excursions to the nearby lake ;-) We were there for the first time but certainly not the last time.

Makes you want to repeat the experience

Just the location is very good, right at the entrance of Waging and not far from the lake. Private parking spaces directly across the street. The house is manageable, so it is not a mass operation. We had a suite on the 1st floor. spacious and well-equipped. 2 large closets, a safe. The room was dividable: with a sliding door, you could separate the sleeping area from the living area (with TV) if needed. Only the refrigerator was borderline small.
An absolute highlight is the kitchen, which is listed in the Michelin Guide and is apparently under observation by Gault Millau. Here, the chef cooks, and he does it very well. We were overwhelmed on the first evening. We were quantitatively overwhelmed because the five courses were irresistibly delicious. And at breakfast, everything was also available, in good quality. Surprisingly good was also the coffee or espresso from the Dallmayr machine. It has learned a lot; I last tried the brand at least ten years ago and did not find it good.
The large terrace with sun sails was very pleasant in the heat at the end of May, as was the garden with sun umbrellas. The staff was very attentive and friendly. All of this makes one eager for a repeat visit.

Perfect all round

We stayed one night at Hotel Tanner on our way back from a Croatia holiday. The hotel is very spacious, makes a very well-kept and tasteful impression directly from the outside, which has also been completely confirmed. The room with balcony and large windows was very spacious and beautiful and modern. It was quite quiet as the hotel is also wonderfully quiet and surrounded by greenery. There was also plenty of parking. We also ate directly in the evening in the restaurant in the beautiful garden on the terrace. As in the hotel, the warm and very service-oriented but unobtrusive staff was extremely positive. The food was awesome! Really delicious, fine seasonal and regional ingredients. Wild herb salad, deer ragout, schnitzel - everything was fantastic! And then a great dessert with butter biscuit ice cream and fruit. Kindly even the hotel manager greeted us at the table. We are completely enthusiastic and can look forward to breakfast before we unfortunately already start the further journey home. We will definitely come back! Thank you for the nice stay at Landhaus Tanner!

Very restful stay

Perfect place to stay. Beautiful big room that looks out across the surrounding countryside, lovely balconies, very comfortable sofa and bed, great desk. We had an excellent rest and would have loved to have stayed longer. The proprietor is very kind.

The Best Crème Brûlée ever....

Yes - here in Bavaria (not in France)!
Cannot recommend highly enough. A completely perfect country house restaurant on Waginger See.
Equally excellent Wiener Schnitzel and calves’ liver served on topinambur.
