Cannot say enough good things about this hotel
I cannot say enough positive things about this hotel. The property was absolutely beautiful (beautiful long drive up to the property, very well kept, etc). The hotel itself was very clean and the staff was great. Breakfast buffet was excellent with many great options. It was very quiet and the rooms were spacious for Europe. We had privacy but also had the ability to socialize in the commons areas. There is a restaurant (and spa services) on property available if you so choose as well as a beautiful commons area with games and books and an outdoor bar/patio area. We dined in the hotel and the dinner was fantastic (a little overpriced for what we got but delicious food). We did not partake in the spa services but would definitely stay here again.

Catastrophic!
Catastrophic conditions! We had booked an apartment for 920€ for 3 nights and expected a corresponding standard. But:
It was dirty, it was gross, there were strangers' hairs in many places, dust everywhere, grease stains from fingers on the windows, coffee stains on the wall, Wi-Fi devices lying carelessly on the floor, Ant Street in the room, urine stains on the mattresses.... and we had to (arrival was 9 p.m.) forcibly spend a night in this room.
It was underground! Never had such a bad accommodation! Relocation was apparently "not possible". It was a cheek! We immediately cancelled our booking the next day and moved.
The hotel itself as well as the decor has stopped in the "charm of the 90s" and the decor style can in my opinion still delight retirees at best.

Beautiful hotel with a great sauna area!
The hotel is overall very nice and versatile. The location is quiet, and you are surrounded by beautiful old trees and a lot of greenery. I was very pleased to see that a young ginkgo tree grows directly below our room, as I greatly appreciate these trees. The staff at the reception was very friendly to us. We were a bit early, so we had a cappuccino and an apple pie at the bistro. The cake was very delicious, but the cappuccino was not particularly good. Overall, it was a bit expensive. But well, you are on a short vacation. Then we could already go to our room. Our "garden room" was surprisingly spacious, even with an adjoining extra room including a second balcony! We found the interior to be somewhat dusty, both in a figurative and literal sense. The carpet gives the room an outdated impression. The furniture is a matter of taste, but the bathroom scored points even more. Great large rain shower, unique sinks, everything very clean (though one spot in the shower needs silicone replaced). The room itself was mostly clean, but you could see dust with the naked eye on a few cushions (and also in a few other places) - possibly problematic for allergy sufferers. For us, it was no drama, but if, as is the case in the Tannenhäuschen, daily cleaning is skipped for environmental reasons (which I greatly appreciate), the initial thorough cleaning should leave no wishes unfulfilled.
Instead of air conditioning, there was a large fan. We found the bed to be truly excellent; we slept wonderfully. We left the sliding door to the balcony slightly open at night, and there was a slightly disturbing noise (like ventilation) that only faded very late and was then heard again around 6, but I was already awake by then. Aside from that, heavenly peace. Conclusion: Overall, we were satisfied with our "garden room," and the first impression of the hotel complex was mostly positive!
The sauna area was basically similar: There are a few points of criticism, but overall the impression was positive. The area is a bit winding, and it takes a while to get oriented. But discovering it is quite enjoyable - and there is really a lot to explore in the Aqua Silva Spa! You are offered a nice selection of well-known sauna types, from lukewarm to blazing hot. The whole thing is set in a lot of greenery, with nice decorative details and plenty of space to rest, sleep, and sunbathe. Robins, squirrels, blackbirds, and several other little creatures frequently stopped by to watch us while we relaxed. This is how I like a sauna area. It can definitely compete with spas that are not connected to a hotel. Really good! The outdoor area / green spaces do tend to give a slightly "enchanted" impression, but first of all, I actually like that, and secondly, as a garden owner, I can only confirm that the so-called "weeds" are currently growing at lightning speed. From that perspective: All good!
What I did not find so good, however, was that the small plastic tables next to the sun loungers were really very dirty (at least ours were). So, we are talking about old, dried-up "bird droppings," etc., which I can no longer let pass as "enchanted" in a dreamy-romantic way.
A few additional words for sauna enthusiasts: The infusion sauna (= Majava sauna) is small but nice. The wood may look quite worn, but I personally do not find that to be a problem. There are only very few infusions, but in this sauna, guests are allowed to pour a ladle onto the sauna stove themselves. Remarkable! I have been a sauna-goer for more than 40 years, and this is only the second time I have encountered such a relaxed rule. The "official" infusions were nicely conducted. I also really liked the Ruusu sauna, where rose water is evaporated in a bowl above the sauna stove. This sauna is also significantly larger. Occasionally, infusions also take place here. The outdoor area is truly well done. You can tell that everything has grown here over the years. I personally prefer this to those ultra-modern large spas that are stamped out of the ground in one go. However, the indoor area cannot keep up in direct comparison. The hall of the indoor swimming pool was unbearably warm; I could not stand it for more than 5 minutes. In the steam bath, one must be careful not to get too close to the hot steam - that should be optimized. But overall, the offerings are really varied, and the visitors spread out very well. As for the gastronomy, I can only report good things.
The evening buffet was always a highlight that left no wishes unfulfilled. Nicely arranged, varied, and delicious. Attentive staff rounded off this extremely positive impression. Very aging hotel. Old creaking wood in the sauna. Very cold and uncomfortable relaxation rooms. Lunch consisted of a ready-made salad with dressing from the tube. (19€)
