The hotel staff were excellence. Dinner and breakfast were excellent. The hotel looks very dated and old but very comfortable. conveniently located just beside the the Kumanoyu ski lifts. Ski rental available at basement and there’s also convenient store at ground floor.

Just ruined

Chinese hotel? Sime staff and most of weekday guests are Chinese, and the bath has become bizarre.
The inner bath, a black substance that seems to be coal tar continuously falls from the ceiling into the bath(Photo 1) It looks like this substance accumulates under the bath and causes black cuts on the skin.
Open air bath, cypress wood is covered with a cement-like substance, the surface of which is corroded and sharp, damaging the skin (Photo 2). The skin that had improved in nearby Hoppo-onsen area turned black and damaged while staying here.

Absolutely unique experience. If you want a fancy western style hotel, don’t stay here. If you want to have a genuinely Japanese experience, in an absolutely stunning area with some of the best snow I have seen in my lifetime, then add Kumanoyo to your list. Personally, I loved this place.

The location is good. It’s near the Kumanoyu ski area. It’s within 5 minutes walking distance. This hotel is more geared to catering to Chinese visitors who want to hit the slopes. They play Chinese-theme music during breakfast at their buffet. Their breakfast is a big spread, and the food is pretty good. The people there do accommodate you, but they are somewhat cold. If you slip on their steps and fall because of the snow, they will not come out to help you or apologize. Come here to seek Kumanoyu and Yokoteyama snow, don’t come here for the atmosphere because it was almost nonexistent.
