There is a sightseeing spot in the bush clover ruins of a castle and the bourg, etc. The bathroom was constructed as if it is a museum that all guests can enjoy the hot bath.

Hidden Places in the Sanin Region
I stayed on the last day of the holiday in the middle of January. The bath, which is large and has few customers, was also allowed to relax in a reserved state. The buildings are also old and remind me of the good old days of Japan. First, I walked in and was surprised by the lobby with the high ceiling. I think the exhibition of Hagi ware, antiques and armor in the museum is also wonderful. Meals were served in private rooms, and dinner was very satisfying, mainly local fish dishes. The service was also attentive and I was very satisfied with the hotel stay.
You can also take a quick morning walk on the beach in front of you. In the summer there are probably many customers, but in the winter the staff said it felt lonely. But I think this is a secret place! The town of Hagi itself seems to have few foreign tourists, so there are few visitors who can get here.
The town of Hagijo is close by and you can go for a walk soon. The camellia forest in Kasayama will be beautiful if you visit it during the season. Now I want to come back in the summer.

The hot spring bath at Shioyu is nice and spacious, but there are many regrettable places
It looks like a hotel from the days when there were many group guests, and the wide hot springs feel good. In the lobby, there are artworks such as Hagi-yaki pottery and cannons made by Living National Treasures, but it is a shame that there are no ideas to make the treasures available to as many people as possible. Dinner in a private room rather than a large hall was a good idea, but I had someone in the lobby who was using their phone all the time because the hotel WiFi only reached the vicinity of the lobby and would be intermittent in the room. The fact that there are many stairs throughout the hotel is probably due to the old structure, but the toilets in the standard Japanese-style rooms are as small as business hotels, and the shampoo in the public baths doesn't foam well, which is a minus point.
