Hotel is not near the motohakone port. But it provides transport to ferry guests. Make sure you book your dinner before arrival (unless you want to eat out or buy bentos back). We were not prepared (thought we could walk-in) but the two restaurants are small and were ‘fully’ booked. The receptionist helped us and we managed to book the French restaurant (it did not allow me to book when I went personally to do so). The garden is big and nice - worth spending time there. We got a very nice view of Mt Fuji.

Hotel de Yama was great. This place has a real mountain lodge feel to it. It is remote and very quiet but within a mile of fun activities. It was the perfect lay-over between the hustle and bustle of Kyoto and the hugeness of Tokyo. The rooms were nice. The restaurants were both great. The grounds were amazing, especially the garden. The staff was super helpful. And the onsen was next level - so relaxing. Would come back to this place in a heartbeat

All is good except we don’t know they have the shuttle bus and not really clear to to know that beforehand that is hard to reach the hotel

Very comfortable and relaxing stay with a beautiful lake view, excellent service, and delicious food. I’ve already recommended it to a friend and will definitely come back again. Close to Hakone Jinjya Heiwa 平和の鳥居. Walk around 7-8 minutes.
