Very disappointing hotel in Hiroshima!! Not clean and smell of tobacco, no customer consideration at the front desk
We stayed 3 nights at the Daiwa Roynet Hotel Hiroshima, as part of our trip to Japan organized by Tourlane with Discova as a local partner.
Our disappointment goes far beyond a simple question of comfort or money.
From our arrival, we encountered several difficulties with the room. Despite a request for a non-smoking room, known before our arrival, we were faced with a room in which the smell of tobacco was clearly perceptible, even on the pillows and bedding.
The general condition also disappointed us a lot: aging room, marked walls, worn carpet, and yellowed bathroom.
But the most unpleasant part was the management of the situation.
We found ourselves for nearly two hours with all our suitcases in front of the reception, trying to obtain a solution, with the feeling of being ignored and left alone to face the problem.
It was even suggested to us that, if we were not satisfied, we could leave the establishment and look for another hotel.
It was only after insisting firmly and requesting the intervention of management that a solution was finally found.
We also had to pay ¥3,000 per night in advance, or ¥9,000 for the three nights.
The breakfast included in our reservation was another disappointment. Our need for a vegetarian option had been communicated in advance by the trip organizer. However, on-site, the options offered did not really allow us to enjoy this service normally, and we ultimately preferred to forgo it.
We were not looking for a luxury establishment. We simply expected a compliant, non-smoking, clean room and services corresponding to those planned in our trip.
We can understand that a problem might occur. What we accept much less is spending nearly two hours in front of a reception desk with our luggage and having to insist so much to obtain a solution.
Hiroshima is a magnificent city that we enjoyed very much. Unfortunately, our experience at the Daiwa Roynet Hotel Hiroshima will remain one of the major disappointments of our stay in Japan.
Under the conditions we personally encountered, we cannot recommend this establishment.

Votre réservation ayant été effectuée pour une chambre fumeurs, nous vous avions préparé une chambre fumeurs conformément à votre réservation.
Cependant, comme nous disposions d'une chambre libre, nous avons accédé à votre demande et vous avons attribué une chambre non-fumeurs.
Comme la seule chambre disponible était plus grande que celle que vous aviez réservée, nous vous avons facturé un supplément.
En ce qui concerne le traitement désodorisant, nous sommes sincèrement désolés de ne pas avoir pu vous satisfaire pleinement et de vous avoir causé un désagrément.
Quant au menu végétarien, une divergence d’informations entre notre système et celui du canal de réservation nous a empêchés de vous le proposer.
Nous sommes vraiment désolés de ne pas avoir pu répondre à votre demande.
Cependant, il n’est pas vrai que nous vous ayons fait attendre deux heures.
Nous vous remercions sincèrement d’avoir pris le temps de nous faire part de vos commentaires malgré votre emploi du temps chargé.

No response to follow up emails
My Mum purchased some pottery and left it in the room on departure - I have contacted the hotel 4 times since to check the whereabouts of the pottery and have not once had follow up. It was definitely left there in the room, her fault of course, but the hotel obviously has it now.

Location is fantastic. The Hiroden Electric train takes you from Hiroshima Station and drops you practically the door of the hotel
Five minutes walk to Peace Park.
