Upon our arrival, an employee greeted us and helped with luggage. The public area was elegant and displayed so many beautiful artwork and antiques. Being at the top of a hill and by the ocean/bay, the view was gorgeous especially during cherry blossom season. The breakfast buffet offered a good selection mainly Japanese food including pacific lobster miso soup. There was a spacious coffee/tea ( snacks) area with the same beautiful view. Our room was a tatami, sofa set, and bed combo and was very spacious. It offered coffee beans with a mill and various tea bags. We didn't use our room bath as we bathed in the onsen which providedmany amenities. The room also provided a bag of amenities as well.
Overall, we had a lovely 2-night stay and would like to have stayed a bit longer just to relax in the room.

Disappointing.

If you're considering a sea butterfly, just share the facts, not the abuse, so you won't be disappointed.
I've been there twice before and I can only make a good impression.
Like last time, I visited expecting a good stay and memories.
The butterflies of the sea have become such a disappointing inn that there are so many stars.
If you are considering this accommodation especially for cooking, please make your own judgment.
The Saio kaiseki (premium kaiseki) plan for dinner, the equivalent dishes listed will not be served.
It was a far cry from the pictures on the website.
The sashimi is a small bowl of spiny lobster and 5 kinds plus sea urchin in the photo, but it was actually only spiny lobster and 2 kinds.
The meat looks thick in the photo, but it was just a thin slice of meat that looked like it was going through, folded and made thick.
It is a private room meal, but because it is divided into two, you can hear the conversation next to you and not enjoy the meal slowly.
In the breakfast picture, there were six small bowls in the box, but actually three.
It can't be helped that the facilities and rooms are old, but they are not well cleaned.
Cigarette butts were still on the balcony.
I couldn't help but wipe the outside of the window, but there were a few hand marks inside the window.
It was a pity, even though the scenery was so good.
It's not enough food, room and service for the room rate and the cost is very bad.
My personal reaction is, "I highly recommend other accommodations."

If you can afford the extra get a room with a view .We didn't and had a lovely view of the car park. We were also there on a holiday weekend (Which we were unaware of before arrival) and made the mistake of not booking dinner months or weeks before our arrival so the restaurant was already booked out for the two nights of our stay. It was difficult to get in anywhere as it was a holiday. Poor planning on my part. As I had booked my stay here many months in advance it might have been nice to have been sent an email with the option of booking for dinner as it was a holiday and the restaurant was always going to be booked out but oh well. But it was a nice area and a nice stay. Very comfortable room and very comfortable beds and pillows. The in house Onsen was brilliant!!

Splendid

Remarkable stay. The hotel is a bit older but has incedible grandeur. Staff extremely friendly and helpful, though communication in English is not always easy. Pools are not in best shape. The Onsen on the other hand is fantastic, absolutely splendid, and so are the rooms, with fantastic sea view. We had futon beds. Breakfast traditional Japanese style, and a special thanks to Chris, who guided us through the process. Hotel shuttle bus runs on fixed schedule to the centre of town, and taxis are not readily available. The hotel staff was so friendly to pick us up when we were stuck in town one evening, many thanks for this and the unforgettable stay.

I chose a Japanese-style room, the hotel is served by grandparents, so flattered. Dinner at the beach bar is almost reserved. It is very convenient to have a car to pick up and drop off at the hotel. Fireworks can also be set off by the sea. Since there are few people now, I also reserved the hot spring! The breakfast is Japanese style that my husband likes, I think the fish is good and the soup is good 👌
