Weed inn

The hot springs and cottage-style rooms were great.
It's weedy, as you've written, and I'm concerned about their attitude of not caring about word of mouth. It is not a half-raw amount of weed.
The room is just dark. I'd like a little more illumination.

TERRIBLE PLACE, kicked out! Bad smell, blocked view. Dirty.

The entire room and around the outside smelled like rotting eggs. I booked an ocean view, and definately did NOT get that. Also, there was either mold or dirt in the shower. Holes in walls. When I requested a refund, they said the only way for that to happen was if I leave. It took me 3 hours to get there. So had ti take another 3 hour train ride back. Photos show the lack of Ocean View.

Not so good

This was my first time staying at Livemax Resort, so I had looked at the website and was looking forward to it.
When I arrived, the building and other aspects of the hotel were old, and the exterior and corridors were quite dilapidated.
The lobby lounge has coffee and mineral water available at any time. I had coffee twice, but it was lukewarm, which was disappointing. You can see a little bit of the ocean from the lobby in the distance.
The back of the lobby lounge used to be the bar area, but I could see cardboard boxes stacked up inside the bar, which wasn't very nice.
When I entered the classic twin room, it was quite dark even though it was daytime, even with the lights on. It felt like the bed was taking up most of the room.
"It's dark and a bit too moody for us," I said.
The inside of the room had been renovated and was clean.
Outside the window was a bamboo forest, but there was a large, dead (or so it seemed) striped spider with a spider web stuck to it, which made my mood drop even more.
My partner said it didn't bother me, but I opened the window, which only opened a little, and somehow managed to knock the spider down with a shoehorn in the room, but the spider's web was stuck to the window and I couldn't get it off. What a pain.
If the window was a little cleaner, there would be a bamboo forest outside, no one would pass by, and I could open the blinds to brighten the room.
Anyway, I pulled myself together and looked around the small room, and there was coffee, mineral water, and DHA lotion in the unit bath.
There were two semi-double beds. They were Simmons beds. The beds were comfortable, but the lack of a safe was a minus.
At night, I turned on the lights and lamp as much as I could, and the darkness was okay.
There was a short-sleeved shorts (knee-length) work uniform in the room, and I was told that it was okay to wear the work uniform in the dining area, but it was cold in November in shorts, so I changed into them.
Now, the bath in the separate building seemed far away when I walked along the central path in front of the room building. However, if you go back along the room after the bath, it wasn't that far.
There were six washing areas in the bath.
To get to the open-air bath, you have to go down the stone steps from the bath.
The open-air bath was clean. There was also a loyly sauna for several people, and the fence around the open-air bath seemed to have been renovated and was clean.
Both the open-air bath and the indoor bath were spring water.
There was a sign saying, "The temperature of the water in the open-air bath cannot be adjusted, please stir it," and the water was quite hot (about 41-42 degrees).
The open-air bath in the morning was a little cooler (about 40 degrees), which was good.
The indoor bath was also hot, and it was still hot even when water was added.
The hot spring was colorless and transparent. A little bit of the hot spring smelled of sulfur. It was a good hot spring.
I talked to other customers about how the bath water was too hot. We agreed that we were surprised at how old the facility was, and we laughed about how it was very different from what was on the website.
In the morning, there was no hot water coming out of the tap in the indoor bath, so it was too cold to wash (apparently the men's bath was the same).
In the washroom area, there were two sinks and only one hair dryer. Amenities were provided, and there was also a mineral water server. I think it would have been better if there were two hair dryers.
The reservation email did not say that it was a dinner buffet, so I assumed it would be a Japanese meal. When I read it carefully, it said, "Please contact the inn for details about the meal."
Dinner was a two-part buffet at 17:30 and 19:30.
The dinner buffet was not particularly distinctive, and there was not much that seemed delicious. It also seemed to be replenished slowly.
My partner ordered alcohol, but I did not.
There was a chocolate fountain, and the children enjoyed eating dessert from the beginning.
Breakfast was a regular buffet. It was a shame that there was no fruit and the coffee was instant.
Since Izu is an area with many mandarin orange trees all around, it would have been nice to have at least mandarin oranges.
There are tennis courts and a pool, so it may be a good hotel for families with children or for training camps.
