Hotel?

There is no reception but a Welcoming is provided in the entrance of the restaurant which is upstairs. The “hotel” has no lobby, no lounge, bar or relaxation area. Access to the rooms by an elevator that goes down 1 floor and leads to a long waxed concrete corridor that serves the 8 rooms: it looks like a cellar corridor or underground parking, it is blind, naked, it is quite sinister even if it is spectacular since all this was built right on the small cliff of the beach.
The identical rooms are quite small, sketchy and adopt the rather sad "industrial" concrete decor. And the furnishings are not really functional, it’s like in an IBIS budget: no chairs, no bedside table, no separate bathroom (an insulated shower - perfectible taps, sink in the room), you hang your towels in the middle of the room, minimalist wardrobe and storage, very dim lighting when it’s dark it’s almost impossible to read while staying in the room. In fact, we do not come here for the room but for the view, the king size bed in the center of the room (it occupies most of it) faces the sea directly and it is indeed beautiful, with a private terrace (concrete also) equipped with a very small Jacuzzi, not overlooked.
This establishment will surely delight couples who want to spend a naughty time naked facing the sea, it is also ideal for a one-night stop. Those looking for some comfort and a worthy hotel would do well to go elsewhere. It really lacks a space for residents, a minimum of Hotel Service.
Japanese breakfast is served in the Garb Cliff terrace restaurant (good and very convenient) which is on the ground floor facing the sea, the helpful staff also manages to serve a continental inspired breakfast if you wish.

Still six stars

This is one of my favorite hotels. Everything is truly excellent, including the restaurant, but most especially the rooms.

Hotel with plenty of sunsets in the Sea of Japan

The couple stayed at Izumo Hotel The Cliff in Izumo City in December 2023. The unique structure of the room, which looks like it opens onto a cliff towards the Sea of Japan, was very impressive and gave me a full sense of the extraordinary.
The private sauna also faced the sea, and the outdoor bath while watching the sunset was an exceptional relaxing experience. Due to its quiet location with nothing around it, we also had dinner in the hotel and the quality of the food was amazing. It was elegantly and carefully seasoned to create a special moment.
The only thing that caught my attention was that the lights in the hallway were dim and it was a little difficult to walk. However, overall, we were very happy with the hotel as it was aimed at adults. There are no activities for children, so it may not be very suitable for families with children, but we thought it would be a great place for adults to relax

CLIFF TERRACE HOTEL IZUMO's main dining room is a romantic restaurant overlooking the Sea of Japan♡

This is my second visit to Shimane this year.
The purpose this time is to visit Matsue Suitoro once a year!
04/01/21 [The Guardian] > 'The Slayer': The 'Ghost': The 'Ghost' : The 'Ghost' is based on the 'Ghosts' of Lafcadio Hearn, the wife of a foreigner husband who loved ghost stories.
The land is Matsue.
On my way back from Izumo Taisha Shrine, I dropped in for lunch at CLIFF TERRACE HOTEL IZUMO, the main dining area on the Japan Sea side, about a 15-minute drive from Izumo Taisha Shrine.
This is a fashionable Italian restaurant with an ocean view!
At first, it was a seat in the store, but in the box seat at the back ... so they made it a terrace seat ♡
I'm sorry for being so selfish!
Thank you to the staff who were willing to change seats.
There is a menu made with local ingredients, and it is so popular in the local area that the parking lot was full at lunchtime.
From the lunch menu,
・Limited quantity Shrimp Fried & Croquette Lunch (with soup, bread or rice ¥1800)
with a drink set
+¥350 Lemonade soda.
Maybe it's over at first!? "I said, "I'm going to check it out because the information may have changed!"" And... he was back.
So get safe.
There was also dessert included, but I gave up dessert because I felt like I couldn't do it because of my stomach's capacity.
The plate includes fresh leaf salad, basil pasta, cream croquettes with tomato sauce, two large fried shrimps and tartar.
The shrimp was shriveled (*´艸`)
Lunch on the terrace with a view of the sea is recommended for girls-only gatherings, dates and families!
Of course, the counter seats in the restaurant also offer a panoramic view of the sea in a row, so it is safe in the rain.
Thanks for the meal.

Uniquely designed hotel

I saw this hotel in the in-flight magazine and decided to travel to Izumo.
Unique design. Everything is stylish and likable, including free drinks in the fridge and amenities that feel like the SDGs. Have a light drink while viewing the Jacuzzi and ocean. It is an adult hotel where you can enjoy time doing nothing. Difficulty comes with a unique design. But I don't hate that, too. Recommended for couples and couples.
Dinner watching the sea go down and feeling the sea breeze is awesome!!
I noticed through conversations with the staff that the hotel was run by a restaurant that was always dumped after wandering in Marunouchi. I see, the hotel is fashionable, but not very expensive, and the food is fashionable. No wonder Marunouchi restaurants are always busy.
