Best value in Niseko
Chatrium Niseko used to be called Hyatt House but was dropped when Park Hyatt opened.
It’s apartments, not standard rooms, and not very many. Nor is it very fancy, and the restaurant is rarely open.
BUT here’s the thing:
1. It’s in the same building as Green farm and Tempoada, two legendary Niseko stalwarts owned by Dennis Vanderbrink, the father of culinary Niseko. You cannot eat better than here in Niseko, period.
2. The location is perfect, you walk everywhere.
3. Even the studio apartments are huge by Niseko standards and you’re almost guaranteed an upgrade if they are not busy.
Finally, the price: this time of year it’s beginning of the low season, and so I paid ¥25,000 a night and they upgraded me to a huge 1-bedroom apartment. That’s considerably less than half of Park Hyatt. No, not the same level obviously but, seriously, who needs that level of luxury? I certainly don’t.
Stay here.

The only complaints would be the laundry room driers were very inconsistent. On our floor, only the middle drier actually dried clothes which was a timely learning curve.
The outlets also seemed under powered and we battled with charging devices.
Next, the breakfast restaurant attached to the hotel was slow, over 30 minutes to get breakfast served and we were the second customers of the day. It seemed to come down to one staff member who seemed more concerned with getting music playing than taking our orders. It felt like we inconvenienced her morning, even the day before I got a 'look' just trying to open a closed door. The next day we asked for the fastest made food to avoid any possible delays. We were there for a bike race and our time was important, I could only imagine if this on a powder day with an actual busy hotel.
Otherwise I enjoyed the hotel very much. Nice rooms all around. I'd get Yotei view next time, the Annupuri view is very average. I hope to come back next year,

Kitchen bench and serving very easy and utensils good. Good set up.

Staff was great. My room was ready so I was able to check in early. Free shuttle service to the mountain. I hired a snowboard from Rhythm Japan and the hotel a return collection area. Made things super easy.

Good location, very comfy place!
Stayed here for a week. Love the location, center of Niseko.
Plus: Very nice and kind staffs, spacious apartment, well stocked kitchen, welcome food package, complimentary parking, ski/boot room, very quick shuttle service. Fast wifi.
Cons: Still need to drive/take shuttle to ski slope, no private onsen (this is a big deal coz we got bored), no game room or board games for entertainment at nights with the kids.
For me it was unfortunate Mt Yotei view was blocked by a building right smack in the middle so just manage your expectation.
Improvement: Add more options for activities, add instruction in laundry room in English, and staffs more knowledgeable where to go for ski.
