Location and value with views that will take your breath away.

I am just back from Niseko Japan where I stayed at the Nikko Style Hanazono hotel. If you are headed to Niseko then you are well aware of the seeming endless powder that Niseko is famous for.
However, I found a hotel in Niseko that is a “off brand” find that was tremendous value in more ways than one.
Location. Location. Location.
While not a true “ski in ski out hotel” it is the next best thing. Approximately 200 yards from the lifts this hotel is exactly where you want to be.
Hanazono is one of 4 mountains in Niseko and caters to all. From a children’s and beginners area with instructors that are providing professional lessons.
There is a well equipped rental shop 50 yards from the hotel that has everything you need for skiers of all levels.
I found this hotel and had my travel professional book the hotel for me.
They contacted the hotel directly to arrange transportation from the Sapporo Airport, CTS.
Imme , the hotel concierge was extremely responsive and made sure everything went as planned as it is a 2-2 1/2 hour ride to Niseko.
She took care of everything I needed throughout my stay. A warm and friendly person who was happy to help make my trip a true memory to last a lifetime.
Upon arrival I was greeted by Akari at the front desk. She took the time to go through everything at the hotel with me and made me feel at home. She really was informative and it was helpful in providing very specific details.
I went up to the room and it was crystal clean, sleek and modern and had every amenity you could want.
The hotel included breakfast with my reservation so I went down to find a buffet that had plenty of choices and the staff went out of their way to accommodate me and as a English speaker in Japan everyone and I mean everyone went out of their way to be kind and helpful.
The hotel is just over a year old and they need to address a few things.
Upon arrival the 8 floor hotel seems unassuming and could use some logos and outdoor seating areas as well as creating a more inviting arrival area.
The lobby needs to be totally rethought with much more intimate areas and comfortable seating that is much more inviting that incorporates a menu and waiter service that promotes a place for families to interact with each other and other guests.
While the lobby bar is the center piece it also needs more tables and chairs that create a better atmosphere.
Finally, the heated patio is going to waste and needs giant couches and chairs offering blankets to create what the true vibe of the hotel could and should be. It should wrap around from the locker room to the restaurant. Fire pits and heat lamps would creat a family friendly environment. A menu to include hot chocolate, s’mores etc and service to eat and drink outside would add huge value and would attract skiers to the property to showcase the hotel.
The skier room has lockers assigned by your room number with a combination lock and is organized and extremely clean.
They are missing the retail opportunity to incorporate a store for the last minute or forgotten things you need. And a dedicated staff member from 8am to 5pm would be helpful.
The store that is in there is a snack shop and misplaced.
The “concierge level” room has a dedicated space with snacks and drinks and plenty of space to work or relax. It over looks the mountain and it is quite nice.
While I did not use the gym or onsen pool area, everything was clean and well equipped.
In my experience its the people who make a hotel great. They exceed in that area.
Whomever is training and teaching that to all the staff is doing an excellent job and they have created an environment that will be great for years to come.
This hotel is a tremendous value and that along with its location cannot be beat.

We did not drive so we did not visit the near by town. The hotels food was delicious. Dinner was cheap but the breakfast was a little pricey.
Would recommend others to stay here. Room was huge and very clean.

Rooms and facilities were clean. Staff were very helpful with check in/out and various issues. Wish the hotel shuttle to the town/train station and back operated a bit more frequently. The hotel should promote it's gift shop (tucked away in a hidden corner) and other services (Yamato Transport).

Absolutely fabulous !! Looked forward to returning to the hotel every day. Highly recommend and great location at the bottom of the slopes.
