Great views. Air conditioned rooms even in November which was amazing. Could actually sleep at night without getting too hot. Close to the port and to the local train line. All around great stay. Restaurant has delicious set meals too!

I was showered by a lame dragon tattooed guy.

I was showered for a minute or two by a lame dragon tattooed old man all over my body. An old man pretended to shower on a small child and threw it in his face. I kept getting showered on my washing face. If a child is running and screaming in the changing room, he doesn't pay attention. The other one [another guy with a shoulder tattoo on his chest] was sloshing in and out of the carbonate spring. I didn't care about that, but I begged him to be the old plant man I showered with. I think it's better to get the kid out of the country as soon as possible because if he keeps going like that, he'll be an asshole. I hope that the law of causality will make the old man feel that his misfortune is multiplied by tens of thousands.

Because I wanted to get Japanese carving and tattoos as well (mostly tattoos, but I did some Japanese carvings with Buddha, and then a little tattoo on my face, neck, arms, back of hands, back, and others).

Staff are very friendly and helpful, the room was very clean.
Just a bit dated and lacking in amenities.

Compared to the other international hotels, this hotel seems rather old and dated. But within the Shimabara seaside region this is considered one of the bigger and better hotels for this price. It's still very clean and spacious but if you're expecting a five-star modern hotel you will be disappointed. Overall it was still a very pleasant stay for me.

Very convenient to ferry, a short bus ride away from the train station. Good breakfast, coin laundry, amazing view. Large room, hotel staff very helpful. Clean and comfortable.
