Make sure to check your equipment!

I visited Nagasaki on a 2-night, 3-day tour in April and stayed here on the second day.
The room I was assigned to at first was the furthest from the elevator on the 3rd floor, and when I used the toilet, the washlet was cold and no hot water came out. I contacted the front desk and they came to take a look, and they worked on it for a while, but in the end there was no hot water, so I was relieved to have them change my room, but then there was a problem with the toilet, and when I flushed it once, no water accumulated in the tank, and it was silent after flushing. I contacted the front desk again, and they came to work on it again, and they said it was fine this time! When I tried it, the tank accumulated water properly, so I went to the bath, looked at the night view, and enjoyed wandering around the hotel, and returned to my room. I was tired from sightseeing on the bus all day, so when I went to the toilet to sleep, the tank didn't accumulate water again, so I contacted the front desk (angry). I was tired and sleepy, but I ended up moving again!!
I've traveled and stayed in many old hotels, but this was the first time I've ever experienced something like this.
The front desk at night was very apologetic, but the next day I was free to do my thing, so when I went to check out, the front desk in the morning apologized in a casual manner, like "I'm sorry!" ? I wondered if the transfer had been done properly, and it made me feel bad.
As I was rushing to carry my heavy luggage to the bus stop next to the hotel to go sightseeing, the front desk staff called me over and asked me where the key to my first room was! I replied in anger, "It's in the room, isn't it?"
The night view was amazing, but I really don't want to go there again (angry)

Verk kind and attentive staff

The hotel is located on a hill high above Nagasaki. Consequently there are great views of the city from the hotel, but getting there from the train station is strictly by hotel shuttle bus (has to be booked in advance), or taxi. Also all the places to visit in the city are not within walking distance of the hotel. We arrived late and took a taxi. The journey from the train station to the hotel took about 20 minutes. All taxi rides between the hotel and the town cost 1500 to 2000 yen.
We made a late booking and we were advised that the twin room would be small. Which is was, but functional. The AC and Wi-Fi worked well.
The staff were extremely kind and attentive. One evening when we had not gone to the restaurant for dinner, they came to our room and told us that if we wanted to have dinner, the restaurant would be closing soon, Both the dinner and breakfast were good.
As with many Japanese hotels, a coat of paint and some new wallpaper would not go amiss!!
The cutest part was the staff coming outside to wave 'good-bye' as left on the shuttle bus.

It was ok...

The hotel is quite isolated, although there is a bus stop not far from the hotel, if you didn't book dinner at the hotel. You will have to travel out. The bus takes about 20mins on the bus to Nagasaki station. The hotel is quite dated, and there are sections of the hotel which is very quiet and a bit "spooky".... It was good enough for one nite. A positive point would be the view at sunset, which is quite nice.

Don't ask for a spare key

Well I had a bad feeling from the moment I asked for a spare set of keys and was told it was not hotel policy, when I rang reception and asked if I could get some ice I was told that it would cost either 300 Yen or 500 Yen depending on the amount I needed. The onsen upstairs was very small and the one downstairs was tired and old, you could see the lining peeling. Breakfast was pretty average so I suppose it was consistent. If average is what you want or expect then this will suit you but I won't go back.
