When I first book this place, I can’t find the place of Google Map. Now it seems to have been updated. So anyway, as of this review, this is what the place looked like. It’s new, but don’t let that put you off. It has all the amenities you need. Wifi, cold air-con after a hot day, a bath tub, nice and soft bed, a washing machine that comes with detergent, TV that you can watch where you can link your Youtube account and watch from there, if you have Netflix and Prime, you can watch from there too.
If you want to visit the Tsutenkaku at Shinsekai, I recommend taking the tram from Matsudcho Tramway Station where you pass by a supermarket called Sundi サンデイto stock up on beverage. It’s a lot cheaper than the nearby convenient store or konbini for short. 33yen for a bottle of water. Even the cheapest water you buy from a konbini sells for at cheapest 90 to 100 yen.
I also recommend heading to Kizu Market instead of the popular tourist trap area Kuromon. They operate from 4 am to 11 am. Even after that, you’ll see some stall still open trying to sell the left over. I reach there at 10.45am and there’s still something to buy.
Few minutes walk to Tengachaya Station, where over there is a mall. Qanat mall. There’s a supermarket called Izumiya, you can buy what you need from there. Plenty of food options.
Google map is your best friend and if you have apple watch, use the backtrack compass.
In summary, you’ll be staying amongst the locals, Very peaceful and quiet, unlike the hustle and bustle of Namba where at night, you’ll hear siren every 20-30 minutes, you’ll experience absolute peace and quiet. Can’t wait to come back and see what it looked like once it’s complete.
