Biz hotel ++, great location and value
The room was very nice: new, super- clean and well- designed. This was my first stay at a Crystal hotel, and I have to say that based on this stay, it is an excellent brand. It’s like a business hotel ++, with the smaller size and fewer features of the usual biz hotel, but with very high quality bedding, bathroom fixtures and fit / finish. All the usual business hotel amenities were there, plus a number of USB charge points; mains outlets; good reading lights and work light on the desk; amenities, and more. If you were there with your spouse, the one could be working at the desk with just the nice desk light on and minimize the disturbance. Very well- designed and many nice touches. It is small, about 15 square meters / 160 square feet, but so well- designed that it’s fine. Still, if there are two guests with a lot of luggage, you might want to unpack in the room and ask the front desk to store the bags.
The bed was very comfortable and the neighborhood, though close to a very busy part of Osaka, was very quiet, so I slept well with the window opened.
The bathroom had great quality fittings throughout. The shower / tub room was the classic Japanese room like you would get in someone’s house or apartment, where you wash yourself in the shower part and then, once clean, soak in the tub. There was an armature with temperature control and water volume control, which worked perfectly. I wish that American hotels would wake up and install such a fixture.
There was no view per se, so if that is important to you, you might consider paying more elsewhere. The breakfast was inexpensive and good. Of course, being Osaka, there were Tako balls in addition to the usual Japanese breakfast fixings. The grilled fish was superb, and the coffee was also very good.
All in all, the place is an excellent stay and a great value. I’ll definitely try other Crystal properties.
