Qing Qing

It's a bit of a distance from the station, but I'm glad I was able to stay here cheaply in Tokyo! I stayed in a single Japanese-style room, and it was good to have a bathtub. I was unable to check in before 23:00 in a hurry, so I called the front desk before I asked, and they were willing to help me!
I'll use it again.

Chinese owned and operated - not part of the Prince Hotels Group

Because of its name and the branding (incl the font it uses on its logo), one would think it is part of a major full-service Japanese hotel chain, Prince Hotels. But, in reality, this hotel is owned and operated by the Chinese and has nothing to do w/ the renowned Prince Hotels. The entire establishment has been designed to deceive consumers into utilizing their inferior products and services.

Rip-off name, rip-off prices

We chose this hotel because the reviews on booking.com are decent. But now we know why they are decent, because booking wouldn't publish our negative review.
On check-in we were charged more than we'd agreed to when booking, which we only realised after paying. On top of the mistake the staff were shocklingly rude for Japan, where the service is usually excellent. They did not apologise or even listen to our complaint properly. I guess we should have complained more and demanded our cash back the next day, but we were jet-lagged and had to leave early the next morning.
As another review mentioned, they do not take care of guests' personal information and just leave photocopies of passports lying behind the desk, which is worrying. But I guess because we can pass for Japanese, we were not asked for ID.
This hotel is (perhaps obviously) not part of the well-known Prince Hotel chain, who I imagine would be very unhappy having their name damaged by this place.
We can forgive incompetence but not aggression. If you can't apologise for mistakes or keep your temper when customers are unhappy, you shouldn't be running a hotel.

Worst hotel experience I've ever had in my life. Denied service, threatened, no refund.

Upon checking in late at night, I was denied service unless I let them photocopy my photo ID.
I reluctantly showed my ID when asked, but explained the law about checking ID doesn't apply to residents of Japan. I was told “It's the hotel's rule to photocopy the IDs of all foreigners.” But other people checked in while I was arguing about it and he didn't verify their nationality or ask them for ID to prove anything. “Foreigners” here is “people who don't look Japanese enough”.
The photocopies of others' passports, residence cards etc. were behind the desk in full view and he also showed me more stored in a folder - severe violations of privacy. I asked what the copies were for, and he said he didn't know, but they kept them for “3 or 5 years”. I asked to see the manager or talk to him the next day and was told no.
The man was very rude and angry, telling me “if you don't like it just cancel, I don't care if you stay here” etc. I didn't have anywhere else to go, but I was afraid of him.
Eventually I left, but he would not return the money I had paid for the first night. By the time I actually got to a friend's house (past midnight), I was crying.
Talked to the manager later and he said the photocopying was “not mandatory”. He said they had to check my residence card in case I was overstaying my visa - this is not the job of a hotel. He said he would ask his boss about a refund but at no point apologised. He got angry and criticised me repeatedly for getting upset and for showing the staff my ID in the wrong way(??). He even made ridiculous threats to sue me for “disrupting business” by calling out their discriminatory practices.
I did not get my money back.

Terrible service 最悪の接客

The rooms were okay - I think you can find better hotels for the same price though. There was a small problem with the booking when we checked in. The Chinese guy at reception was extremely rude and had a bad attitude towards us. We felt like we were treated like criminals not customers.
部屋は普通で、同じ値段でもっといいホテルがあると思います。でも予約は少し間違っていて、受け付けにいた中国のスタッフに話してる間に、すごく態度が悪かったです。お客さんじゃんくて犯人として扱われたと感じました。
