If it's an emergency stay for one night, it might be ok. The staff is friendly and basic amenities are provided. Asakusabashi station is practically on the doorstep.
The reasons why I will not book at Hotel Mercury again are:
The entrance and reception only accessible via a spiral staircase to the basement which is a challenge with suitcases. The corridors are bare with lots of damage and the atmosphere is cold and uninviting. The rooms are poorly air-conditioned, the furnishings are outdated and worn and unfortunately my room smelled of the same. I couldn't enter the bathroom at first because the smell of toilet was very strong. The internet was unstable, the temperature of the shower was a game of skill and the rooms were very noisy. I would advise women in particular not to book.

I was chocked over the standard of this hotel. The lobby, that you had to go down a spiral staircase to under ground levels to get to, had a harsh smell of cigarettes, which I thought was okay at first since they had smoking-rooms available and I had booked a non-smoking one. My room though smelled a lot of old cigarettes that made me instantly nauseous. The room was was very dirty and old. I didn’t dare to touch anything. There were stains all over the wooden bed head and on/around the buttons on the control panel on the bed head. It was small and the bed very uncomfortable and creaky - it was one of those beds with springs in them and no mattress on top so I could feel the springs laying on it. The walls and furniture were very worn out, broken wood and worn out paint - overall a very dirty feeling to it. You could not use the ceiling light, it was only for emergencies. There were also a flash-light stuck to the desk in case of emergencies. The tv was one of those big old ones, which didn't really matter for me, but adds to how old and worn down this place was. I took a power nap of 1h and then booked a new hotel and left. I could not stay another minute. That one hour I spent there made my allergies go nuts with a stuffed nose, hard breathing and nausea.
The only plus was the well mannered and professional receptionist.

空調は全館空調でマックスにしても効かず、暑いため、シャワーをぬるま湯で浴びて
汗をかかないような努力が必要。また、トイレはウォシュレットがない。
喫煙ルームがあるために選んだが次回の宿泊は選択しない。
