Danelis Duo & Family Too
In Crete, where golden breezes play,
We woke to warmth each gentle day.
At Danelis, tucked in sunlit hue,
We found a peace we never knew.
There stood Nikos, calm and steady,
Always smiling, always ready.
A quiet strength, a caring way,
He set the tone for every day.
And Manos, bright with friendly cheer,
A laugh that made the whole place clear.
With backgammon boards and stories shared,
He showed us just how much they cared.
Their mum, the heart of homely food,
Cooked meals that lifted every mood.
She hugged us tight before we’d roam,
A warmth that felt like being home.
Their dad, a gentle soul around,
Moved softly through that family ground.
A nod, a smile, a helping hand,
The quiet anchor of their land.
Children’s footsteps, quick and light,
Brought joy from morning into night.
A family place in every way,
Where kindness shaped each passing day.
The pool lay still — a crystal blue,
Reflecting skies of Cretan Views.
We drifted there in calm embrace,
A perfect, peaceful, sunlit space.
We rode our scooters far and wide,
Through mountain bends and coastal tide.
Old towns glowing, beaches bright,
Crete opened up in pure delight.
And everywhere, we came to see
Why guests return so faithfully.
Some twice a year, some even more —
They’ve found a home on Crete’s warm shore.
From birthday treats to sunset gold,
From stories shared to moments told,
Danelis wrapped us in its care,
A rare, true warmth found everywhere.
So here’s our tale, both soft and true —
Of Nikos, Manos, and Family Too.
Where sunshine, laughter, kindness blend,
A place we’d gladly visit again.

No stress!!

Family run, 2 very welcoming and warm hearted brothers Nikos and Makis could not do enough for us, attentive, always asking the right questions. Great cocktails and bar service. Wonderful pool. Full of useful information about the surrounding areas and nearby towns and cities. Lovely bar menu full of very tasty food, all cooked by Mama. In one greek minute. Thank you for everything, see you next year.

4th visit - we will be back!!

Just leaving after our 4th visit...Danelis is as always the most welcoming place, Makis and Nikos and family go above and beyond and it feels like a home from home. We will be back again, highly recommend!!

Like staying with family

We are just back from our second year at Danelis and we wouldn’t stay anywhere else. This isn’t just a hotel it’s more like staying with family. The rooms are spotless, cleaned every day. The food is top notch as is the cocktails. However what truly brings us back is the family. Makis and Nicos go over and above for you. Medical attention was needed for a couple of our family member's, asthma issues, Makis personally saw that we were attended to and taken care of promptly. I have never met people like them in my life and they mean the world to our family. Special shout out to Mama and Papa. Saying goodbye to Mama was heartbreaking, a huge hug is coming your way next July Mama.

Congratulations, you have just found THE BEST HOTEL IN MALIA , fun filled amazing place .

Hi , there's not many holidays that i shout about but this one is very special, right from day 1 we ( myself and the wife ) were made to feel very welcome, its run by 2 brothers ( Nikos & Makis ) , amazing people , including all the family ( mum n dad too and of course the lovely Pelagia , best place on earth we went while you people were there that went to strip every night but never had a problem as they have security on , we're going back again as 14 nights wasn't long enough, can't wait, cheers for making our holiday special as you do everyone's, thank you , best hotel in malia .
