Super friendly and relaxing, modern hotel nr Naxos Town

Wonderfully relaxing stay near Naxos Town.
Great family room which housed our family of 4 (2 x adults, 2 x teen boys) very comfortably.
The hotel is ultra modern and no expense has been spared on the decor and furniture. The upkeep of the grounds is exemplary and the wild flower borders that separate the ground floor rooms from the pool area are a lovely touch.
Pool itself is on the small side but we were lucky when there that the hotel wasn't busy and we had it to ourselves for most of our 3-day stay.
The staff are all super friendly and very attentive.
Special shout out to Thomais on reception who was uber-efficient and extremely courteous.
The hotel is about a 15-min walk from the town centre which is fine if you're fit and able (the walk back is up hill).
All in all a delightful stay and a great base from which to explore Naxos.

Loud, Smokey, far from town

This was by far the worst hotel we’ve stayed at in several years.
We left after the first night because the room smelled like someone had been smoking in it recently, the views are terrible and the noise of barking dogs and roosters was unbearable. When we brought these concerns to the attention of the office we were met with “what would you like us to do”. Unable to move to a different room we chose to leave the property after the office agreed we should leave. We felt so unwelcome after this point. During our WhatsApp communication we asked about the payments made for a remaining night and asked for a refund, to which they replied “I will talk with our back office and let you know I'm sure we can do something about that”. Since then nothing has been resolved.
Breakfast leaves a lot to be desired. Plan on going into town for a proper breakfast.
Let this serve as a warning when doing your planning to Naxos, there are plenty of other great options. While this hotel is new, it’s in a bad location, walking from town means a dirt road up hill. The views don’t do the island justice, and the noise of constant barking dogs and roosters next door will wake you up early.
I expect a reply from the hotel and will update my review accordingly below this line.

Highly recommend - beautiful hotel

We stayed 1 night at the El Mar Naxos in a Family Suite Sea View room. It accommodated my family of 4 perfectly.
Upon check-in we were greeted by Pedro who provided us with 4 welcome drinks - such a nice gesture - thank you!
The location of the hotel in Naxos is perfect for sightseeing, shopping and dining.
They have their own parking lot which is convenient if you have a vehicle.
Every staff member we met was friendly from the front desk to the poolside bar. After a day of sightseeing we looked forward to returning to El Mar Naxos and having drinks and snacks by the beautiful pool that offered great views!
We want to especially thank Pedro who provided us with 4 boxed breakfasts to take with us on the early morning ferry to Athens - it was very much appreciated - thanks again Pedro!
We really enjoyed our stay and when our travels take us back to Naxos we will definitely return to El Mar Naxos due to its location and wonderful staff.

Wonderful hotel

We absolutely love this hotel. It's very modern, new and spacious. The owners are very involved in the day-to-day workings of the hotel and are there to help with everything. We had a wonderful stay!

An amazing stay in a beautiful hotel

We enjoyed a fantastic few days in this lovely hotel. The whole team were absolutely wonderful. Friendly, kind and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble, and we were always greeted with a smile. We were made to feel so welcome, relaxed and at home. Our suite was all we could have hoped for. Spacious, well designed, and everything was of high quality. The balcony was huge with comfortable sofa style seating. The ample and varied breakfast was taken by the pretty pool and gardens. We also loved having the gym and used this every day. The hotel is spotlessly clean, and has great views to the town and across the water to the neighbouring island of Paros in the distance. Naxos is a beautiful island. We would walk from the hotel into town, where there is plenty to explore: narrow streets full of shops, lovely restaurants and bars, and a bustling harbour. Thank you everyone at El Mar for an excellent stay.
