Does what you need.
We arrived in the late afternoon and realised that Omalos itself is extremely quiet with not much going on (either you will love or hate this, but remember you are on top of a mountain)
We did a small walk to the local caves, otherwise just enjoyed this mountain Crete experience far away from the beach and heat.
The room itself was fine, dated of course, but we were only here for a sleep and an early rise in the morning.
We ate dinner here which was good, big portion sizes and a decent menu offering. Eat lots so you have energy for the walk!
In the morning we paid up and then had breakfast downstairs: again, not amazing but serves the need. You can pick up a map and essential walk items.
If i were to rate this hotel in relation to the Samaria Gorge walk then it really does do the job. If i were to rate this as a hotel to relax in its own right then i dont think this is the right hotel for you, but you probably wouldnt be staying in Omalos.
Excellent value for money!
Book if you want a great start to the Samaria Gorge walk, the entrance is 5mins drive down the road where you can leave your car and pick it up much later in the day after the ferry and bus drop offs.

Really Good Hotel and Restaurant
Brillant Host. Very good Food. We stayed here one Night. We had a really nice Dinner and Breakfast. The atmosphere is really. We slept really fine. Good value for Price. Efcharisto Paulpolixronls.
