Lovely place in the Tikal Jungle. Food was delicious. We stayed in the Hostal (without private bathroom) but the showers and toilets were close by and cleaned regularly. I understand that everything needs to be brought in but it would be nice if drinking water was available to fill water bottles instead of the constant need to use plastic bottles. Perhaps a goal for a greener future.

Unfriendly staff, but great tour guides and drivers!

Pros: good location and our tour guide was awesome, super nice and extremely knowledgeable! The drivers were very kind as well and we felt very safe with them. 10/10 with the guide and our drivers. The room and bathroom were also very nice for a hostel, all very clean and pristine.
Cons: the rest of the staff was unhelpful and at times rude and dismissive. We checked in late at night and the front desk person didn’t provide much information.
The next morning, we were admittedly 2-3 minutes late to the 3:30am time, but we proceeded to still wait another 30 minutes before leaving as a group for our tour (checking our tickets at the gate) so it didn’t seem to matter. When we greeted the same front desk attendant from the previous night, he gave a bit of a snark and unprofessional reply about our tardiness.
Finally, either he or another employee damaged my friend’s passport and then questioned whether it was already damaged — basically trying to call us out, insinuating that it was already like that. They just shrugged their shoulders and did not care. Very unprofessional.
I recognize this is a hostel, but I was just surprised by the staff’s service, we were really disappointed.

They need to train their staff better.

We stayed at the hotel as a group of 11 people. The facilities are beautiful! But the staff ruins the entire experience. The two receptionists had an attitude that showed they were annoyed to have to assist us from the moment we arrived. The waitresses at the restaurant were the same, with a very poor attitude, and we had to ask several times for what we needed to be brought to us. Invest in training your staff.

I had mixed feelings about my stay. While the hotel presents itself as a leading option in the area, I honestly expected better basic amenities. Some essential things were missing for example, there were no bed sheets provided in the room, which is something very simple but important.
Another issue was with the shared showers in the common areas, where the water was constantly running hot and couldn’t be properly adjusted. This made the experience less comfortable than it should have been.
That said, I want to highlight that the staff were friendly and welcoming, and I really appreciated their attitude and effort to help.
Overall, I believe that a place positioning itself at this level should offer more complete and better-maintained facilities.

Beautiful lodge in the middle of the jungle. Delicious food. Very helpful staff.
