Great Location Great Service

I stayed with my family during Durga pujo. The stay was very nice and memorable. I am very thankful to the staff and owners of the hotel for taking care of all our requests although the hotel was full. The location is very convenient as all kinds of transport is available from the hotel. This hotel is a must stay when visiting South Kolkata for leisure or work. The wifi works very well.

Unpleasant experience

Terrible experience. AC not functioning, no toilet roll, no shower gel and on top small cockroaches running around. Asked for morning tea and was told not available before 8.30am but later provided after insisting. Staff is great but the facility is just not good. I fear that cockroaches will get imported outside India from here.

I was visiting from New York during December 20-23 and stayed in room 204. While booking this place (Dover Inn next to the Gariahat Police Station), I was hesitant because of some scary reviews among other good ones. I am writing this review to negate most of such extremely negative reviews, and also offer some friendly suggestions. First of all, the location of this Boutique hotel is "Outstanding". Second, the service and warmth I received, was "Outstanding". I wish to specially mention the names of Divyanga, Sujata, and Nikhilesh (the Hindi-speaking attendant). Third, the restaurant within the hotel was "Outstanding". The cleanliness of the bed and the room was also great! Finally, the price for the location was "Outstanding". I would also like to leave a few friendly suggestions. (1) is it possible to have the geyser connected to shower so that the guests could have a hot shower? (2). The air conditioner did work but, although the remote had temperature settings, the cooling was uncontrolled and brought the room to a freezing state. (3) The sink had a crack, which did not leak however. A new, sink might help. (4) When I was checking in, my Chase Visa card was accepted, but later, when I was leaving, the same card and also other cards were denied. I suspect, that this is a local phenomenon and should be investigated. Upon calling the card management, was told that the problem existed at the vendor's facility. Worst hotel ever

Please don’t stay at this place. It is disgusting. For the price you pay you can live even on the street with a better condition.
The rooms have black fungus(mold) growing out of the ceilings with the water dripping directly onto the bed. There was also water leakage from the A/C which was making noise the whole night. When notified to the staff they just said it’s how it is and didn’t bother. We booked two rooms for 5 days but left after the first day since the staff didn’t bother to help us.
Money hungry owners who refuse to talk to you during the checkout process so they can avoid refunding the money.
Please don’t book here, an OYO or any other room in a lodge would have better standards. Pretty sure the reviews here about the place are fake as well are the photos. It doesn’t look clean like it shows
