Nice residence within budget

Located about 25 km from Airport and 8 km from Howrah railway station, this is not at all a bad place to stay for a couple of days. Rooms are big with good amenities . Located in a bit noisy location though . Bathroom facilities could be improved . Breakfast is good

Hotel location is the only plus!

This hotel is quite conveniently located on Harish Mukherjee Road. It has about 30 rooms with 4 suites.The hotel does not have services like travel desk, doctor on call, airport pick-up/drop etc. It has a small dining area and room service is available.The hotel offers free wifi and has sufficient parking area. Check out time is 11 am.
We had booked two suites and a/c in one of the room was not working. After lot of follow up we were offered a standard room in lieu without any refund for the difference in tariff. Breakfast was offered on chargeable basis.
Going by the rates being charged, the hotel management needs to ensure better upkeep and maintenance of the rooms to give a value for money experience to the customers. The location of the hotel was the only plus during our stay.

Grubby, run down hence low price

Perhaps non-westerners have more lenient expectations of guest houses.
Rooms are sparse, a bit grimy and well worn. The shower head in my room was held together with duct tape and wires. Never could get hot water but with near 90 degree F monsoon weather, lukewarm water was adequate.
I could never log onto their wi-fi.
I was only here for a couple of hours before heading to the airport hence I can't comment on nearby eateries or conveniences.
They do have a lot of security at the gate and hotel entry.

Thank you for your feedback. We are really sorry that your stay was not comfortable & did not meet your expectation. We shall definitely look into it as no shower in any room is meant to be duck taped... my sincere apologies if u had to face that. However if any room did not meet your level of satisfaction, we would request you to please inform us as we would be glad to shift you to a more suitable room.
Please do convey any problem that you may face while you are checked in with us so that we can try our best to make your stay comfortable.
As for the wifi, it was down one day and the concerned person fixed it within a few hours.

Uber is always available within minutes. The foods from the Chinese restaurant nearby were really good and reasonable. Room service was everyday.

Since I had to visit the Victoria Memorial Hall, I wanted a hotel close to this museum and I wanted a budget hotel. I found Malik Guest House the best choice. It is looks more like an apartment block rather than a hotel. The Harish Mukherjee road is busy all day and night, traffic, people and shops...I was staying on the fifth floor and once you go up to your room, it is quiet and serene out there. The hotel staff are helpful and the service is quick. I was happy to spend a couple of days there. I wouldn't mind going back there again.
