Amazing location in the hills
We really enjoyed staying at Thenmala Ecoresort Resort and were made to feel very welcome by all the staff. It has an amazing location up in the hills and we enjoyed a jeep ride to their viewpoint. We had a room with a pool facing view overlooking the grounds which were beautiful, and we enjoyed using the good sized pool. The food was excellent and there is a stunning view from the restaurant - it has large panoramic windows. The gardens are very well maintained and we enjoyed walking through them to the restaurant. As it is in the hills, the path from the room to the restaurant was a bit steep although it didn’t cause us any problems. A great stay.

Wonderful Hospitality, Worth Every Penny!
I would like to whole-heartedly thank the team of Thenmala Ecoresort [Akhila & staff] for their wonderful hospitality for providing us with a great atmosphere during our stay between Jun 5-7.
Booking Comfort
From the time of enquiry with Akhila until the time we left, all of them were very approachable and patient. The food was also quite good.
Rooms
We had booked 2 rooms, Cottage 3 [Shendurney] and Ground Zero. Both were kept very clean. Housekeeping services were also prompt and proactive. In fact one of us left our mobile charger in the room and the housekeeping staff collected it and gave it to us.
Transport
They also helped us with the airport pickup and drop as well as for the Kulathupuzha temple and Dam visits. Charges were reasonable.
Overall Worth every penny! If anyone visits Thenmala, I suggest that one can blindly trust Thenmala Ecoresort for a complete peaceful and valuable stay. My observation was also that most of the staff were women managing the daily activities with ease and a pleasant smile on their face!

Lovely place but not sure about the eco credentials, perhaps a little green washing going on
One of the best nights sleep we had in India. Lovely place to be very peaceful & relaxing, really needed more than the one night to get the fullest experience as there is so much to do here. A little unsure about the eco credentials though when offered a car to take you to your room, thought there would be more solar lighting, perhaps eco loos etc The swimming pool was however turned off when not being used so no electricity wasted there.

Loved the Poolside Cottage!
We loved Thenmala Ecoresort!! We found it through internet searching and thought it looked perfect and we were right! We stayed in the Poolside Villa which was an amazing little cottage perched over a pond -- it did require steps to get to it, so keep that in mind if you are mobility challenged. Our friends stayed in one of the other villas under a huge fig tree. There was a pond with fishing available (catch and release). The grounds were very well kept and we enjoyed bird watching from our cottage balcony. The pool was clean and felt great in the hot weather. It was a steep walk to the main building/restaurant on the hilltop, but they did have a jeep available for rides up and down the hill. We could hear music from the nearby Hindu temple echoing over the hills on one night and found out it was close to the resort, so we walked up there to see the procession for a celebration. My husband had several interesting conversations with the owner of the resort and he took us on a walk to the nearby river. The restaurant was good and had lots of choices for meals and excellent ice cream. We highly recommend Thenmala Ecoresort!

Beautiful eco-resort in the middle of nature.
Very tasty food and lovely staff. The cottages are spacious and the beds are very comfortable. There are lots of great activities to do, such as a unique night safari. We can wholeheartedly recommend the eco-resort!! We had a great time and would come back again and again.
