MTDC Matheran resort - Best place to stay and enjoy this beautiful hill station

MTDC Resort at Matheran, was the best place to stay at Matheran. You can enjoy green picturesque location very near to all important points and commuting places. Food is excellent. People under incharge, Mr Patil Ji are exceptionally mannered with great behaviour and helping nature. Patil Ji himself is very compassionate and ready to support the guests all the time. We highly recommend MTDC Matheran resort to future travellers.

Terrible stay in Pathetic "Standard" Room in MTDC Matheran

We stayed in standard room. The tarrif was Rs. 2000 per night+taxes which is not low for Matheran however the room size was very small where you can barely fit a queen size bed.
Looked like the most neglected room of the property. MTDC maintenance is poor but this room topped it all. It seemed the maintenance crew did not visit it for last 10 years. The wash basin in the bathroom was about to get detached from the wall. There were no towels provided. The staff advised not to have resort provided drinking water and buy Bisleri instead. The door of the bathroom was eaten away or corroded from the bottom. The walls of the room have not been painted for ages adorned with stains and markings of earlier furniture. The room reeked of moisture and decay. The blankets were smelling. The upkeep can be described as pathetic.
Overall the room is a blot on the name of Maharashtra.

This place needs maintainence, all broken, no water, dusty, no ac, no cleanliness, horrible

It was horrible experience living in shruti room no 6,no ac, no water no cleanliness, dust everywhere,noone to attend , no light from room to restaurant only few items available but are good ,the whole area needs maintainence, no network at all

a must visit place near Mumbai

a very good place to visit but the people especially a the entry gate are frauds. they threatened people not to visit places alone, insisting on hiring them and telling lies that the roads are not good. But there are good roads, auto and train always available. All visitors should bring raincoats since it rains intermittently all the time.
the main town is about 3 km from parking and train and auto are available the reach the town.
