Unpleasant Stay
The hotel sent a technician to my room, but it quickly became apparent that he was not familiar with the problem or how to resolve it. To make matters worse, he entered my room wearing his dirty outdoor shoes without removing them, which was highly unprofessional and disrespectful of a guest’s room. After spending about 30 minutes unsuccessfully trying to fix the phone, he called a colleague for assistance.
Unfortunately, the second technician also entered the room without removing his dirty shoes. After another 20 minutes of troubleshooting, the second technician finally managed to repair the telephone. In total, the entire episode lasted nearly one hour, from around 11:30 p.m. until after midnight, causing significant inconvenience and disrupting what should have been a restful evening.
This situation should never have arisen in the first place. A basic in-room facility such as the telephone should have been checked and confirmed to be in proper working condition before the room was allocated to a guest. The lack of quality control, coupled with the unprofessional conduct of the maintenance staff, fell well below the standard expected of a hotel charging premium room rates
