Perfect Palace

If you are looking for an authentic Rajasthani palace experience with modern luxury, Gogunda Palace is the perfect choice. The 16th-century property is immaculately maintained, blending rich history with incredible comfort. The rooms are grand, clean, and full of character, and the food at the restaurant was exceptional.
What sets this heritage property apart from others is the outstanding staff, particularly Natwar and Nirmal. Their hospitality and excellence shone through every single day. They were incredibly attentive, always ready to help with a smile, and their dedication to guest satisfaction was evident in everything they did. They truly embody the spirit of Rajasthani hospitality. Thank you, Natwar and Nirmlar, for an unforgettable stay. Highly recommended!

Palace stay in rural Gogunda, Rajasthan

Delightful old walled palace in lawned gardens. We had a fabulous suite with private terraces and large lovely bathroom in the previous ladies section of the palace. Always ask for a suite, I viewed several and each I saw was stunning. Food tasty, staff kind. There is a pool but didn’t use that but it was warm. We only stayed one night but would have been happy for longer with a good book.

It is an old haveli style place with good food but know that there is not much activities in the area.

We had a wonderful 2 night stay at this lovely heritage hotel. The staff were all very professional and the meals were all amazing. Mr Singh was very helpful and attentive, he personally gave us a walking tour of the local village, lake and showed us around hotel explaining the rich history. It was a lovely peaceful stay and we would definitely recommend it. 😁

Luxury Heritage Hotel - Exceeded Expectations

We were only here for one night but loved our stay at Gogunda. Loved the history. Loved the breakfasts and as we were on half board, our dinner was included - dinner were superb and we chose from the a la carte menu. The staff were friendly and very attentive. Nothing was too much. We were served sundownders on a private rooftop terrace watching the sun go down. This Palace was built in 1567. It was once a 16th Century fortress and the seat of Maharana Pratap Singh, a Hindu Rajput ruler There are courtyards, and turrets, and stairways leading to secret rooftop lookouts, and rooms behind castle type wooden doors with huge locks that are reached by steep narrow passages. Our magnificent bedroom was one of 40 individually decorated suites with original flooring & beautiful mural work. It had two balconies, one of which overlooked the beautiful swimming pool (built over the former palace stepwell, baoli) which is situated in a lovely high walled courtyard complete with garden swing and masses of tumbling bougainvillea. The hotel manager took us to view a number of suites including the impressive, richly devorated Raaj Tilak Suite which is built around the room that witnessed the coronation of Maharana Pratap.
I enjoyed wandering around the beautiful grounds, finding the antique oddities dotted around, marvelling at the antiquity and pretending to be a Maharini for just one night! At that time we were the only guests there!!
