Good to be here....
Compared to two years ago, things have improved considerably.
A lot has changed for the better, too.
The crew speaks English and is now very attentive and there is plenty of interaction.
You'rer always greeted warmly.
For a massage, feel free to ask mr. Wandi, it can be arranged and it's inexpensive......

Bad hotel.
Dirty room, stinking towels, damaged remote AC, dirty bathroom of little water and ugly shower, not expec with the price as soon as I get the room and poor facilities, mba mba his front office jutek sma mas anter to his room

Great place for price
The rooms were spacious and comfortable, complete with a balcony. Although our room was slightly dirty in the corners, the staff promptly cleaned it after we reported the issue. The hotel owners and receptionist were very kind and always willing to help—they even arranged a transfer to Bogor when we couldn’t find a taxi ourselves.
There were some insects and lizards around, but this seems to be quite common in Indonesia. Overall, the room was definitely worth the price.
Just five meters from the hotel, there’s a market that was very convenient for grabbing snacks before heading to the beach, which is only a 10-minute walk away.
If we return to this area, we’ll definitely book this hotel again.

Renew goed place
All room are good. Next door an new supermarket nice place good beds cheap prices. weldone mister Bud Budi is head manager of the place. Also the kitchen en food at this moment are good. Keep the place clean and many costumers will come back. N. Roosjen

Stunning Indian Ocean resort town with great seafood
The south coast of Java has long been a powerful attraction for Indonesians and foreign visitors alike, as one can sense the fierce grandeur of the Indian Ocean. It is also a major fishing port with some neat seafood restaurants clustered around the waterfront. And a meal won't cost you an arm and a leg (but the sharks offshore might).
Desa Resort is a rather pricey expat-oriented joint with such nice facilities as a pool table and faux-primitive cabins. Best enjoyed during weekdays as the weekend traffic down from Jakarta tends to be horrific. Several days ago the new BoCiMi Toll Road opened up for traffic; at the moment it extends from Ciawi (terminus of the Jagorawi Toll Road from Jakarta south to Bogor) to Cigombong, and will eventually reach Cibadak, where you can join the bumper-to-bumper procession across the southern mountains to Pelabuhan Ratu.
And there's the challenge: until somebody coughs up a massive wad of dough there will be no toll road access to the south coast, which means a weekend stay is awkward: you can get caught in a 12-hour gridlock from Jakarta. Even motorbikes can't wiggle their way through, as traffic is packed tightly on the (rather dangerous) two routes south to Pelabuhan Ratu.
Read about the charming "Queen of the South Seas" myth (Google up "Nyi Roro Kidul") and avoid the not-so-charming undertow, which continues to take close to fifty victims a year in spite of huge multi-lingual signs proclaiming DANGEROUS WATERS DO NOT SWIM HERE in six languages. I love to visit Pelabuhan Ratu and I love swimming in hotel pools, thank you. Be warned: even very experienced swimmers get caught out and disappear into the Queen's undersea fairyland (thus the mythology).
The alternative drive via Bogor > Pandeglang > Malingping > Bayah > Pelabuhan Ratu is quite a long detour but very pleasant as traffic is light and the West Java scenery stunning. The road is in great shape as well.
As for Desa Resort our stay there was some years ago so other, more recent reviews could tip you off more succinctly. During the week it's easy to find accommodation along the coast once you drive down, ranging from No-Tell Motel to Four-Star. Check out the facilities before you decide, as upkeep is often slovenly, even in once grand resorts like Padi-Padi, today rather sad and rundown (but still expensive).
