Clean, safe and quiet

Near to a mosque, but you could hardly hear the regular call for prayer. Had discount from booking online, otherwise this hotel is too expensive.
Wash basin n shower is leaking, but hot water n air-conditioning works and our room on the second floor has a good window for ventilation if we need some.
Toilet has some smell, but the door can be easily close. TV is only local channel.
Breakfast is plenty, but tasted awful.
Friendly staff. Need to confirm everyday for the key to work.
Nowhere to hang clothes.

We stayed at the hotel for 2 nights. We booked with Hotels.com and on there site it is called Airy Syariah Padang Selatan Kampung Nias Dua Dalam 16c. We have been travelling all over Asia for 6 months and this is by far the worst place we stayed in. The staff are young and seem to mock you. The room was filthy. The bedding was meant to be white but it was grey. The toilet was absolutely disgusting and looked like it had never been cleaned. Breakfast was a waste of time and the staff sit there smoking. The snacks they say they provide for free are not in the box. Nothing great in the area. We couldn’t wait to get out of there.

Basic of Basic

The location of hotel is at the back alley. (I was surprised when the taxi started moving into the small back street.) So, I don't think its a good idea to go out of hotel and come back at night time. Staffs spoke little English but friendly. Room was really small and had small washroom. At least, it had A/C, working wi-fi and the shower. The toilet has bidet installed with it but there is no toilet roll paper. I asked the staff but they didn't have it. There is no window in the room (so it kinda feels like that you are in prison cell). There is TV in room but only 12 channels. It was ok for price but I wouldn't recommend it to foreign tourists like myself. Also, I thought the free breakfast was included (according to booking.com) but there was no breakfast.

Just OK

Nothing much I can say about this hotel. It's ok just for resting at night. The room small and about clean. But, it fine for solo travelers. The environment it's not so nice such as sound people walking near room, the sounds when they open or closed the door, can heard another room tv sounds, most of the time heard dogs sounds during night then I can't sleep well, a lot of noise sounds inside this room. The type of breakfast was same every day. The staff was very kindly and nice person.
