The best accommodation when visiting Yogjakarta
It was a pleasure to stay at Yabbiekayu. An easy Gojek ride from the centre of Yogjakarta I can not recommend it enough. The bungalows are set in their own little courtyards around the beautiful garden. The rooms are gorgeous, comfortable and clean and have lovely hot water outdoor bathrooms. The staff are very friendly and helpful. A beautiful place to relax after a day in the city. And we walked the doggos! Twice! Don't hesitate.

Great escape
I stayed three nights at Yabbiekayu as a solo traveller and it was a great retreat from Jakarta. Amel and Silvi looked after everything smoothly. I did a trip to Borobudur and a tour around Yogya, as well as the bike ride and yoga on my bungalow porch. It was a great balance of activities. The vegan food was amazing. I’d do it again just for the Yabbiekayu experience.

Don't miss this place if you are looking for a "best place in this area"
In one sentence - don't miss this place if you value a real rest and are looking for a "best place around". Been here for 5 days, with family. Large, two floor bungalow. We could stay here for a month. Will come back and definitely recommend!
No AC in bungalow - I was afraid of this before arriving, but it tuned out that you don't need an AC. Air ventilation and wooden bungalows and built and designed the way that it cools down. The environment, details and people... it's always about people!
I have been around the world and believe I have seen a lot to compare. Every single detail has been taken into account are are for the reason, including water channel cooling bungalows and protecting from termites, and fish inside those channel eating mosquitos around. Food, small tours, a true-eco place, you will be surprised and fell in love to come back! Cleanliness - top class, one thing I am very sensitive.

Beautiful, sustainable & revitalising experience
Yabbiekayu is a beautiful way to experience Javanese rural village life. Set amongst the rice fields with a beautiful edible garden, our villa was the perfect place to relax and unwind. Particularly enjoyed the spacious patio and private outdoor bathroom
I visited for two nights with my husband and 6-month-old baby... we didn't want to leave.
Yabbiekayu's commitment to sustainability is genuine and apparent in almost every detail. The bungalows showcase traditional Javanese architectural designs that promote passive cooling, with plenty of shaded outdoor living spaces to enjoy the fresh air and peaceful ambience. In this way Yabbiekayu manages to create comfort through working with the environment rather than against it.
Its staff members are friendly, knowledgeable and professional and create a welcoming, community feel to the resort.
The restaurant served a variety of delicious food that tasted "home cooked", leaving us feeling revitalised and nourished.
Highly recommend arranging a visit from the village masseuse, who was amazing.
