Spacious and comfortable
We enjoyed our stay in the villa. Amazing value for the space and amenities that were provided. Free breakfast was offered but we declined since we like cooking but Dewa the caretaker still provided fresh fruit and orange juice which is well appreciated. The caretakers also offered to do laundry for a minimal fee which was very convenient for us. They villa is cleaned daily and there was always someone ready to answer to our questions and request. The beds were very comfortable, and the rooms and baths were clean and spacious. Do not expect the villa to have modern interiors since it's locally owned. Some wood outside by the balcony are old due to rain but it doesn't affect the cleanliness of the place. Wifi connection is strong and stable and villa even provides a local mobile phone for our use. The pool is very clean and you feel like swimming in the jungle. We swam everyday during our 8 day stay. I recommend this villa to those who want to stay in Ubud for a longer stay and would rather be away from the hustle and bustle of Ubud center.

Be wary of Swara Hari Villa, Ubud, Bali, Indonesia.
My fiancé, sister in-law, brother in-law and I stayed at the Swara Hari Villa, Jln. Tirta Tawar, Ubud, Bali from 18-26 December 2017. This villa was listed on Airbnb and we were impressed with the reviews they received. Judging from the photos, we thought the villa was brand new and this explained why they had not yet received many reviews. When we posted our Airbnb review it was never published because they did not provide a review for us (because they knew we were not happy) knowing that would prevent our review from being published. This is a weakness in the Airbnb system – it skews reviews towards only good ones being published.
When we arrived at the villa we were surprised by how run-down the villa looked. The villa was not well stocked, there were a few bottles of soft drinks in the fridge, but we were told by a staff member who greeted us that we needed to pay extra if we consume them. We had to ring them to ask for basic items that are normally provided at an Airbnb listing in this price range. Our breakfast (less than average in quality) always arrived cold, and less was delivered as the days went by, so by the time we departed we were only receiving about half of the amount.
My fiancé and I planned to have our commitment ceremony during our stay in Bali. Prior to our arrival I wrote to Jero (Ni Luh Sri Purnamawati) and asked if we could perform the ceremony in the villa, considering we already booked the whole 2 bedroom villa. My fiancé and I were so surprised to receive the below reply from another person.
“Sorry just reply your message because of time difference!
Our deep apologize, regarding of our goverment regulation and village regulation, that kind of ceremony are not allowed to do and celebrate here in bali nor indonesia!
So we are so sorry, to avoid issues in the village, we cant allowed you to do commitment ceremony in the villa!
Once again we are so sorry!

It is not true that commitment ceremonies are not allowed in Bali or Indonesia. We ended up having our beautiful ceremony at Plataran, Cangu, they were very happy to accept our patronage.
There was no direct communication with Jero from the beginning to the end of our stay at the villa, which is contrary to the reputation of Balinese people being accommodating and welcoming. During our 9 days stay in Bali, we noticed how insincere and indolent Balinese people can be. A few times we experienced how they pretended to be friendly and honest, but their main aim is to obtain easy money from foreigners.
We were very disappointed with the quality of service and did not have a good experience at Swara Hari Villa due to the following:
• Electric socket above sink is not in a safe location. The socket was also hanging loose on the wall.
• Electric jug leaked badly. They replaced it with another one that also leaked. A third replacement was finally OK.
• Stains on bath towels and they had an unpleasant smell.
• Stains on bed linen and my fiancé and her sister got bites on their bodies while sleeping. As a result their sleep was disturbed. The number of bites increased each night.
• There aren't any windows that can be opened in the bedrooms, so the rooms are unhealthily damp. There was mould on the walls, especially in the bathrooms and the paint was flaking off in several places.
• The exhaust fan above the toilet is very weak - we thought there was no fan.
• There was an unpleasant smell in the shower recess from the drain.
• Water leaked from the shower recess into the bathroom.
• There were gaps under the doors that allowed a large cockroach, three leeches and a large Tokay gecko to enter the bathroom and bedroom. The Tokay gecko left droppings in the main bedroom and could be seen half hidden behind the AC during the day.
• The tiles outside the front door were slippery when wet which was most of the time because the area was flooded each time it rained.
• There were two WiFi’s. Neither worked.
• The door of the main bedroom didn't close easily - at some point it got jammed and when it was pushed we got locked in the bedroom. Luckily my in-laws helped us get out.
• The air conditioner dripped water onto the settee and floor in the main bedroom.
• The sink in the spare toilet leaked badly on our feet when washing hands.
• There were holes in the walls that had been drilled and not filled.
• The light on the verandah outside the bedroom flashed even when it was turned off.
• They supplied lots of sugar but only one teabag.
• We had to ask for the following items because they were not provided:
o Box of tissues
o Tea towel in kitchenette
o Cups for hot drinks

Nice villa but some issues
Nice villa overall, lot of space, nice room, amazing private swimming with view on the jungle/rice fields and friendly staff.
Several small issues though: some parts are a bit old, brown water in the bathtub, breakfast very basic, only 1 free transfer to ubud center for a 2 nights stay and big issue to pay with credit card (annoying given the price of the villa)

The good: value, location (if you have a scooter), the swimming pool, the view. The staff and manager are friendly and responsive. The bad: multiple issues having to do with maintenance and cleanliness. The property is not kept at a baseline level of readiness for guests.

Estupenda villa entre arrozales y jungla
Estuvimos 4 noches, tuvimos una villa mejor de lo esperada al estar la nuestra de renovación. Nada más llegar nos asignaron un móvil local por si necesitábamos cualquier cosa. Las habitaciones perfecta así como los baños, el cuarto de estar daba la sensación de estar un poco vacío, a mi gusto no estaba a la altura de habitaciones y entorno. La piscina perfecta. Las puertas de la habitación no quedaban completamente cerradas por lo que algún "visitante" podría entrar. En general estuvimos muy bien y el trato fue muy amable.
