Most beautiful place in Ireland

Stunning castle in beautiful surroundings. The rooms are spacious, modern and very clean. Louise is a very welcoming and accommodating home who goes out of her way to make the stay and amazing experience. The gorgeous animals on the grounds add to the endless charm of the castle. Absolutely loved our stay and will definitely return. Thank you!

Beautiful Castle on the Hill with Lovely Views

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Ballea Castle. The Castle is quite old and sits at the top of a big hill surrounded by woods and pastures. It is still a working farm with cows, horses, etc. We were greeted by Gerti the Pig, an incredibly friendly cat, a sweet dog, etc and just loved meeting them. Our host, Louise and her son, were just delightful. Our rooms were large, very comfortable, clean and well appointed. In addition, Louise brought warm croissants with nutella chips to our room for breakfast. We could make tea and coffee in the room ourselves. Great stay--would definitely come back!

Amazing Irish Hospitality & a Beautiful Property

Absolutely stay here!!! What an incredible place for a relaxing Irish stay. Louise and family were incredible hosts through my our time, even giving us a lift into town when our rental car fell through. Whether you’re looking for a cozy castle stay or something a bit more modern Ballea has you covered. We really enjoyed seeing the sheep, horses, and adorable white chihuahua Billy. Because it’s not a massive hotel you can calmly walk the property and enjoy a quiet morning. Did I mention fresh pastries in the morning?! Given the opportunity we’ll definitely be back. This place is pretty magical.

Medieval castle with beautiful modern rooms

Have you ever wanted to feel like a princess in a medieval castle? Look no further! This castle originally from the 1300’s looks just like the beautiful castles you drive to visit BUT with the room of a 5 star hotel!
Ballea castle was the highlight of our trip! Sheep, horses, the quiet tranquility of the countryside, but 10 (ish) minutes away from the pubs and restaurants of Cork.
The rooms were HUGE! Big king size bed, tons of seating options and a big walk in shower. Marble floors and high end furniture in the rooms Along with Louise’s amazing hospitality (& her husbands chocolate croissants!) truly make you feel like royalty!
If you are reading this. Stop and book now! You will NOT be disappointed.

Amazing stay at an Irish castle on a breathtaking property!!

Amazing castle hotel on breathtaking rural landscape. Louise is an amazing host and made us feel like we were family and not guests. She greeted us at the castle and always answered our texts with questions about Cork and the surrounding areas. We found her on Booking but it looks like she is on AirBnB as well.
If there were 6 stars, we would give them.
We stayed in one of the newer rooms which was super lux and comfortable and the kitchenette worked great for us.
Say hi to Lourde (the peacock who wanders the property).
