Overlooking Fitzgerald Park, The Redclyffe Guesthouse is opposite University College Cork. Cork city centre is a 10-minute walk and Redclyffe offers free Wi-Fi, free parking and traditional breakfasts.

Comfortable, convenient and welcoming.
I had a short city break in Cork last week and my very enjoyable stay was enhanced by my choice of accommodation.
The guest house is in a great location, opposite the university and within walking distance of the city centre. There is also a frequent bus service.
The decor is more retro style, but very cosy. Nothing old style about the excellent en suite bathroom-great shower!
A very good breakfast is also provided. I opted for the continental and particularly enjoyed the delicious brown soda bread.
The owner, Mick, makes guests feel very welcome and creates a relaxed ambience.
Despite my room being at the front, I reckon the double glazing must be very efficient- no disturbance from the busy Western Road traffic!

Overpriced and shabby
It was extremely basic! Parking was treacherous in a small front driveway. Everything needed a renovation. Definitely would not stay there again. Overpriced!

Good grief...what a hole.
How on earth has this establishment not been closed down by the council?
I threw up in the night because I could no longer bear the smell of wet dog coming from the carpet.
A horror I don't ever wish to re-live. Do not believe it has ever been deep-cleaned.
A night in the caravan featured in episode one, series two, of Father Ted might be comparable.

Good, friendly accommodation t a reasonable price
We spent a single night at the Redliffe Guest House (for a concert) and I would certainly return when I next visit Cork.
Located a 15/30 minute walk from the town centre/Kent train station, the guest house is in a lovely area within Cork City. The exterior is that of a lovely older building (typical of many B&B's or guest houses in Ireland and the UK), with good, secluded and easy accessed parking all surrounded in lovely flower beds. Mick (a lovely guy) answered and showed us straight to our room with no fuss. The room was spacious and clean and in keeping with the age/style of the local buildings. While not decorated to modern (and expensive) standards the room and facilities were deadly on... tea, coffee, towels, hair dryer, TV and a clean comfortable bed.
The ensuite had admittedly seen better days but it was clean and perfectly adequate with all that we needed, this is absolutely NOT a complaint, just an observation.
That night we had a quiet, comfortable sleep even though the guest house had a number of guests and a busy road just beyond the car park area. Breakfast compiled of cereals, hams, cheeses, breads and a cooked breakfast (if wanted) plus tea/coffee/juice and was absolutely fine.
Check out was simple and straightforward the following morning.
We tour Ireland regularly on motorcycles although this visit was by train and when we return to Cork I would certainly stay here again. If you want posh, modernist accommodation with fancy breakfasts and extravagant facilities then this is not for you, if you want somewhere clean and comfortable for a few days and all at a reasonable price then the Redcliffe is ideal.

Excellent
Lovely place, clean and bright, staff very nice and welcoming. I would definitely stay again. Excellent location, within walking distance of all major attractions. Breakfast very nice ( good choice) and plenty available. Ample car parking available.
