Amazing private place right on the best snorkeling lagoon
This was a return trip for us after a fabulous stay in 2017. We booked directly with the owners via email and website. There are 3 identical villas with no shared walls. The sliding glass doors and windows above provide an amazing view of the lagoon and sunset. The beach is several steps away and we went down to watch sunrise every morning. We used the Kayaks every day and just parked them right by our unit. We found the snorkeling right at the unit to be the best on the island and easy to enter on the sand. Nice outdoor shower to wash the equipment off. The patio/deck overlooking the lagoon is where we spent most out time. Being from US without a phone plan, we found the combination of the local phone for reservations and wifi were just what we needed. The villas are very open with a fabulous upstairs bedroom/loft that can accommodate several bed arrangements. There is one shared bathroom downstairs. All of the windows are screened to provide bug free cross island breezes from all angles in addition to ceiling fans. Although there is no AC, we did not miss it and sleep better without AC. There is also a desk upstairs for any computer work that might need to be done. The upstairs has a view of the mountainous Island interior and also a view of the wonderful Titikaveka lagoon. The kitchen is large enough for several people to work and has a full size refrigerator, stove, work spaces. You can park right next to the unit. There is a nice shared BBQ area where we enjoyed cooking several nights. There is also a clothes washer. (No clothes dryer or dish washer but we did not miss them ). We walked down the beach to Polynesian Inn for dinner, and previously has walked a little farther to Charlies. The nice Maire Nui gardens is also a nice walk. There is a new CITC store very close for groceries and is easily walkable. Wigmores is a couple minute drive and is open 7/24. We did have to refill our drinking water and found free stations across the street from Wigmores and also a community center the other direction. White sands provided a nice 5 gallon refillable bottle for us, a large bowl of fruit, some of Don's famous Ahi/Tuna upon check in. We cannot wait to return !

Having a Beer with Don and HiLux and Sandy.
We stayed at this property as part of a family trip to Raro, I have been a regular visitor to Raro since 1985 so not much that I haven't seen.
Property was genuine beachfront onto lovely lagoon where you can swim and snorkel.
Property was equipped quite well.
No need for Aircon as proximity to beach meant wasnt needed.
Has Barbeque availabvle for quests along with Kyacks and snorkeling gear.
Close proximty to shops incl a newly opened CITC supermarket that sells just about everything incl fuel.
As per usual had our own token dog we called HiLux and cat (called Sandy) who hung around but were never any bother.
Unit has 2 bedrooms 1 of which is mezzinine level.
Has Free WiFi which until recently was a rareity in Raro.
Don Beer our host was attentive to any things we needed.

SUPREME VIEWS, SUPER HOSTS
This is our second time staying at Whitesands and it will be our accomodation for many years to come.
Don and May are amazing hosts, knowing we were here on our honeymoon they spared no expense in making it feel like it.
Easy self maintained space that has a kitchen and dining area and beautiful views of the lagoon (and in our opinion on of the best places to swim on the island right at your front door) the villas have many louvered windows allowing for plenty of air flow on those hot raro summer days.
Also offer a movie (DVD) drop off at your request from the book of movies supplied.
Plenty of space sleeping 5 people.
Only a short ride from Wigmores for groceries + the meeting place for some activities done on this side of the island.
Highly recommend staying at whitesands.

Amazing Hospitality to go with an Amazing Location.
This an absolute gem of a place. Our hosts ensured we were well looked after (even when we arrived at 2am).
The Beach-front location was breath-taking and the Villa was perfect and had everything you could possibly need.
Wake up to the sound of the waves crashing out on the reef, walk but a few steps from the deck and you are swimming in the crystal clear waters with the Tropical marine-life - mindblowing.
Nothing was ever an issue for our hosts Don and his wife (sorry, i forgot her name) when we called for assistance (1st timers to Raro).
I travelled with a group of 60 family members whom had all booked our own accomodation around the island and the ones that came to visit our Villa, didn't want to leave as theirs were either inland or heavily populated whereas ours was, Private and on the Beach.
Whitesands Beach Villas will be my permanent choice of accomodation in Raro.
Thouroughly reccomend staying here.

Wonderful Whitesands
The Villa was perfect. We arrived with a beautiful yellowfin Tuna in the fridge and a bowl of delicious fruit thanks to the wonderful hosts Don and May.
It is literally on the beach with fantastic swimming and snorkeling right there. Kayaks for exploring the lagoon. The bed was comfortable and the rooms spacious and spotless.
Go out on the deck at night and you’ll see fishing boats with flood lights in the distance and the milky way shine like Christmas lights.
We will definitely be back.
