Cassia

Accommodation in the quiet street in a city houce, on the second floor, quiet, clean. The bed is comfortable. Toilet with shower shared by several rooms - in a private hall next to the rooms, separated from the corridor. Access to the house and hall by code - accessible at any time. In the hall, a coffee machine with coffee capsules and tea bags - the possibility to make tea or coffee in the morning. You can walk to the city center - 10-15 minutes to the train station or take the T2 tram - the stop is 2 minutes from the accommodation. - Belfiore. Good comunication with Gino on Whatsup.

Fine for a cheap 1 night stay

So we stayed in the room with a shared bathroom. The room itself is basic but it does have a table in the room with a continental breakfast (cheap croissants and French toast) with jams and it had a sink with a mirror which is useful for women getting ready as well as brushing teeth etc. It was pretty clean too.
The location is okay but the best thing about the place is the price. Just £39 for the night. However, the woman who checked us in (perhaps owner) was rather unfriendly and not particularly approachable. But that didn't bother me too much. Overall it was alright but it is not ideal for couples generally speaking if staying for more than 1 night.
If I stayed here again it would only be because of the price.

Not impressed.

After reading mixed reviews, we (my grandmother and I) decided to give this hotel a go for a 2 night stop over in florence.
We wish we hadn’t bothered.
Upon arriving at the central station, we were able to follow a 15 minute walk to our accommodation. This was a fairly pleasant walk, however we were met with a mass of roadworks which the detour to avoid increased our journey to over half an hour. Obviously this is outwith the control of the hotel but still not ideal.
Upon arriving, there was no answer at the door. As there is no 24/7 reception we were advised to call the owners 10 minutes before our arrival - despite calling 30 minutes in advance (due to our long walk) we still had to wait a further 15 minutes outside the hotel with no shelter.
A woman arrived with no apologies for her lateness and took us to our room (2 flights of stairs with no elevator - not mentioned on website and a nightmare for suitcases!) Upon opening the room... we found the bed had been slept in, used coffee cups on the dresser. The place obviously hasn’t been cleaned since the previous user. We alerted the woman (who spoke very little English) who began shouting down the phone to some other person. After this she asked us to return an hour later so the room could be cleaned. Bear in mind, this was at 6pm in the evening so the room had had plenty of time to be turned over. We didn’t mind, however the manner in which she shouted at her colleague in front of us and offered no apologies or compensation seemed extremely unprofessional.
The room itself was fine. Beds were comfy enough, there wasn’t much noise outside (although cats could not pass the street anyway due to roadworks.) The location was good. Please note the bathroom is shared.
Breakfast, however, was a joke. Each morning after the room was cleaned we were given a dry packaged crossaint each. Along with this we were also given a dry packaged “toast” each - which was dry as a cracker, and we found these almost inedible. There was a jam each but there was no butter provided.
We were also provided with 2 bottles of water on the first day, although these were not replaced the following morning.
The only positives in this place is that a cake is served each day, to be shared amongst all guests. The tea and coffee provided is also up to expectation.
The price was decent but we found much better accommodation for similar prices throughout our holiday.
3/10. Wouldn’t stay again, but decent enough for a 1 night stop over in Florence.
Pictures: Breakfast, and the state we found the room in Originally.

Great place Average location

The place is great and a good price. The rooms are very nice with a heat pump to set the room to any temperature you want. The owners speak limited English but the general message is easily conveyed. The breakfast is average with a packaged croissant and plum jam but enough to keep you going in the morning. The location is a Km in the wrong direction of all the attractions and the train station. The major problem we noticed on the reviews was the check in. COME BETWEEN 12-2pm AS THAT IS WHEN THE CLEANING LADY IS IN AND THEY CAN NORMALLY CHECK YOU IN EARLY. Otherwise any other time is a gamble.

Don’t let the bad reviews fool you

I was quit worried after reading the reviews to stay here but it’s a 5 minute walk from the train station in a quieter part of Florence. We had a room with an ensuite, it was big, clean and comfortable. The cleaning lady checked us in (she doesn’t speak English so make sure to have a translator app on hand) & the owners where easy to contact via email they booked us a taxi for our departure early in the morning.
Everything in Florence is walking distance from the hotel IF you don’t mind walking about 20 minutes, which we didn’t.
We really enjoyed our stay!
