Wonderful stay
My family and I stayed at Hotel Grifone in Florence for five days and had a wonderful experience from start to finish.
The layout of our room was well designed and provided plenty of comfort throughout our stay. The beds were clean and comfortable, and the bathroom facilities were spotless and very well maintained. The high standard of cleanliness was noticeable throughout the hotel.
The reception staff were always friendly, welcoming and extremely helpful whenever we needed assistance or information. They were happy to answer questions and help us with anything we needed during our visit.
We used the swimming pool one day and had great fun as a family. It was a lovely facility and a nice way to relax after exploring the beautiful city of Florence.
The staff in the dining area were also friendly, attentive and helpful. Breakfast offered a good selection each morning and provided a great start to our day.
Overall, Hotel Grifone offered excellent comfort, cleanliness and customer service. The friendly staff and family atmosphere helped make our holiday even more enjoyable.
I would definitely stay at Hotel Grifone again and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Florence. Thank you to all the staff for helping make our family holiday such a memorable one.

A lovely place to explore Florence
We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Grifone. Our annex room was spotless, quiet and had excellent air conditioning, which was very welcome in the thirty eight degree heat. The shower deserves its own mention. My husband was so impressed with the water pressure that he is now looking into how we can get one at home. It is unlikely, but he can dream.
There is a lovely little cafe just round the corner that serves great coffee. The Jazz Bistro is also close by. It serves food from seven in the evening and provides the hotel’s room service. There is a Co opfi supermarket nearby too, which was handy for picking up food to keep in the fridge in our room. The room had a kettle with tea bags and the usual bits, which made life easier.
Inside the hotel, the small drinks area near reception was a nice touch, especially when there were leftover pastries. Staff were friendly and helpful throughout, and our room was cleaned and the beds changed every day. We did have a small issue with ants, but it was sorted quickly and without any fuss.
There is a spa on site where you can swim and use the sauna. It sounded lovely, but the twenty euro per person charge felt too high, so we did not use it and cannot comment on it.
As suggested by the hotel and other reviewers, we used the number fourteen bus to get into the centre of Florence. Sometimes it was fine, other times it was full to the point where you could not get on. On one occasion we ended up walking back, which took about forty five minutes in full heat. Not ideal, but we managed.
Breakfast was lovely, with plenty of choice. Figs, peaches, pastries, eggs, bacon and freely available filter coffee. Staff were happy to make a latte or whatever you fancied if you asked.
Overall, Hotel Grifone was a comfortable and friendly base for exploring Florence. Nothing felt like too much trouble and we felt well looked after throughout our stay.

20 euro to swim per person
Great family room but terrible 20 euro per person to swim, so rediculous! Get on the 14 to get to city which is easy....dont stay if you want to swim for free

Lovely stay
My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The staff and service were amazing. Overall a wonderful experience. Would definitely recommend.

Beautiful experience
It was a clean and comfortable hotel. Breakfast was delicious and the employees were professional. We will come back.
