Rats by the pool
I reported it to the receptionist who informed me that this was the first time that anyone had ever seen rats in the area. I asked to speak to the manager and was introduced to Matteo who informed me that there was an electric fence around the hotel, designed to keep rats out, as well as traps. I told him of our fears of using the pool incase of rat droppings and urine in the water. He briefly told me that he would talk to the maintenance man.
Not satisfied with his explanation, we decided to stay in the beach area and avoided using the pool.
The next day, I received a phone call saying that the General Manager, Suzanne would like to meet me. I met her in the lobby and repeated my story. She questioned whether we had seen rats or boars. I politely told her that it was definitely rats. Once again, I reiterated my fears and was told about the electric fence and traps. I offered to show her the wooden hut that the two rats had disappeared into on three occasions during our conversation but was ignored. The meeting lasted about 3 minutes and it was obvious that the matter was not of huge concern to her.
The following day, after a lot of consideration, I decided to briefly step into the pool but not to put my face in the water. My decision was partly based on the fact that I didnt want another beach day as the sea was freezing cold. Also, it was 31° and i needed to cool off. My fellow traveller decided that he did not want to take the risk and didnt go into the pool during our stay.
Our holiday was marred by this experience which was a shame as the hotel setting is beautiful. I didnt feel listened to by the management and was made to feel as if I was making a fuss over nothing.

Cleanliness and hygiene are our highest priorities, especially considering the unique setting of our property, which is located within a natural park inhabited by various animal species (coots, ducks, hedgehogs, etc.).
At Abi d’Oru Beach Resort & Spa, regular scheduled pest control and extermination treatments are carried out in full respect of the natural environment and the surrounding ecosystem.
These activities are entrusted to specialized companies and are documented through official service reports, which also confirm the successful completion of all inspections.
The swimming pool water is treated with disinfectants and is subject to daily testing (chlorine levels) in accordance with applicable regulations, with all results accurately recorded in the appropriate logbooks.
This is the first time we have received a report as described.

A Beautiful Hotel
The Staff are 6 star
The staff were extremely friendly and would go the extra mile for you.
Unfortunately the hotel had only just opened for the season hence some staff were very unexperienced & communication amongst themselves caused slower service, this will obviously improve over the coming weeks.
We think some of the management decisions leave a lot to be desired.
Beach Jetty being worked on resulting in noise, this should have been done before the hotel opened on 15th May.
No pizza available anywhere in the hotel, what a stupid decision.
The 2026 opening launch on Saturday 30th May resulting in all the guests could not use the beach restaurant, the launch was more important to the owners than their guests, the launch should have been done before the hotel opened.

The Hotel & Facilities are 5 star
The Beach & Amazing crystal clear waters are 5 star
The Trattoria del Pescatore (Beach restaurant) is 5 star
Mediterraneo restaurant is 4 star
Tzia Maria restaurant is 3.5 star
The rooms are spotless & the cleaning staff are excellent
Please note that the service can be very slow at times, the drinks are very expensive (12 Euros for a 330ml bottle of beer)
Uber cost 27 Euros to travel 2.8 miles

Close to perfection.
The valet service upon my arrival was already a first sign of the high level of performance of your hotel, and the rest of my stay only confirmed this initial impression. The premises are magnificent, and the staff speaks English at a level that allows for real exchanges. The Sardinian restaurant, the only one of the three I visited due to time constraints, gave me the impression on the first evening of dining in a Michelin-starred restaurant, with a level of culinary technique worthy of the best, complemented by a competent and professional staff. A special mention for the manager of this restaurant, whose hospitality and kindness are remarkable.
The hotel bars are also beautifully organized, with, once again, a capable and endearing staff.
It is truly a joy to stay in this enchanted place.

Incredible customer service!!
Even though our reservation had been made through a booking platform, the hotel went above and beyond to personally take charge of our case and ensure that we were not charged for the cancellation considering the circumstances.
I truly have no words to express how grateful I am for the kindness, compassion, and professionalism we received — especially from Valentina. Despite her busy schedule, she took the time to personally assist us and make sure the entire cancellation process was smooth and stress-free during such an emotional moment for us.
