Superb oasis in the middle of Lucca. Look up!
A superb place to stay in central Lucca.
We were looking for ages, with many places available and decided on this appartment at the slightly upper end of our budget (was about €220 for 1 night).
We booked as apartment - 2 bedrooms and kitchen/lounge. I do realise that they are set up to be able to let the bedrooms individually if needed. I think they have maybe lost the occasional 5 star because of that setup (when people walk in and are blown away cos they think they have the whole thing but only booked a room). We certainly had privacy across the space.
Door was easy to find - very in depth instructions to find and access, so confused where people can't find it in other reviews.
Throw open the shutters and windows and soak up the vibe. We had a busker playing guitar outside the cafe downstair, lovely. Great open space and rooms are very well seperated on opposite sides of the kitchen/lounge.
Remember to look up - the ceiling is specatular (was actually one of the things that pushed me ovre into booking when I saw it on the photos - a ceiling that grand must be in a great space I though, and was right).
We found the rooms very quiet after 10.30pm when the whole city seemed to quiet down. The appartment is on the edge of one of the main squares in Lucca, and they do have concerts and events on there, so I'd double check that in advance if I had young babies in tow. But I'd expect the price rockets when Tom Jones is on stage - what a superb private box the window seats would be!
Go to Lucca, and enjoy!

Bad experience
room absolutely far from being able to be called suite, broken heating (both underfloor and heat pumps) and therefore in addition to suffering the cold we could not take advantage of the common areas (kitchen dining room sofa and tv).
The solution proposed by the structure was an old stove delivered at 22.30 on the day of arrival after several messages and complaints. Dirty room (cobwebs on the exposed plots above the bed) and I would recommend curtains since the room overlooks the square and from outside you can see everything.
